That said, I think the Democratic party has ignored the requests of the Greens, so it's probably going to be difficult for them to come back.

Greens are allowed to have dual party membership, but I don't think the Dems recognize that. So we can't have Dennis run as a "Democratic Green" or what-have-you.

So, just hope for ABB from as many 3rd partiers this time around and keep on fighting the good fight for election reform.

That much is true. No matter what happens and even though he is NOT running as a Green, he will invoke the association due to his past run, not to mention if the Greens DO decide to run someone, Nader is going to peel those votes that might have been traded from safe states.

The Green party gave a long hard look at the Nader factor of the 00 election and even though they disagree that Nader was THE factor, they gave MORE than lipservice to the impression it left and whether it would be wise to run a candidate. They did so out of a thoughtfulness that was worthy of respect.

The Democratic Party is a vehicle, not a God. The Democratic Party I cherished was the Democratic Party that marched in Selma, that cared for the poor like Bobby, that had a black on the Supreme Court who was for equality for all. That's my party.

However much the party has changed, I still have faith in a progressive (who does missionary work to the Greens) like Dennis. A Wellstone Democrat. If the Greens cannot unite behind him this time, this may be the last year I am in the Democratic Party, after 42 years.Because I will have seen the handwriting on the wall, that corporations are more important than people.

NOW IS THE TIME!!I personally re-registered over 100 Greens as Democrats; they wanted to vote for Dennis in the primary. If this one fine candidate is not acceptable, there will never be another before I die.This is our chance to unite and MOVE the party away from the DLC.
