4. My "Other" is
..the American people, for allowing their elections to be rigged and saying nothing.

If the Reeps steal another one, there will be no one to blame but ourselves. "First time, shame on you. Second time, shame on me". This would be the THIRD time if it happens.

6. If it's a repeat of 2004, then it will be the DLC to blame.
Their plan, once again, is to shove the weakest candidate down our throats and tell us all that we like it. And if we don't, then we aren't "loyal Democrats". :puke:

13. "Other"
Another lackluster campaign directed by campaign "packagers" who screwed up both the Gore and Kerry campaigns by packaging them as men who would not challenge the status quo, who would ensure business as usual, and who never, ever thought anything remotely controversial will ensure yawns.

Another campaign that focuses on a middle class that has disappeared along with a fictional bloc of GOP swing voters instead of the Democratic Party's base of working people will also fail to energize voters.

That's basically it. The GOP will focus on their base of government hating, tax whining, religious nuts. If the Democrats don't catch a clue and focus on our base, a base which has been slammed by bad conservative policies for the last 38 years, then they'll have another close election stolen from them.

Sadly, they'll deserve it.

We're so powerful we cause all sorts of major natural disasters, make the Dems lose elections year after year, destroy "traditional marriage" and families, and wreak myriad other forms of havoc on Amurka and the world at large. Nonetheless we still can't manage to secure workplace and marriage rights for ourselves.

18. The funniest thing, here, is that no one seems to have grokked
to the realization, yet, that it won't make any difference who gets elected in '08. It hasn't made any difference that the Democrats took over congress in '06 and it won't make any difference in '08. I know, I know, "It's the Supreme Court, Stupid!" But I am not convinced that the SC is that big of a deal, either. Democrats vote for Republican nominees consistently; Republicans can stop any Democratic nomination (because they WILL do it), so that isn't much of a big difference in my book. The Republic has become a Military Empire - it really doesn't matter who is named Consul -er - President...

The day Kennedy was murdered. I generally think that was a watershed moment that completely altered the course of American history for the last 40 years.

52. I think that topic is very open for discussion. I certainly accept the concept
that the Republic has been disintegrating for many decades prior to the 2000 coup. I guess I was trying to explain the differences between what we might have expected from Democrats in 2000, as opposed to what we can expect from them today.

If we have another shenanigan-filled, dirty-deed, underhanded, treasonous election that even a third-grader could see was fraudulent, then I will know exactly who to blame. I'm keeping my eyes on the exit polls (if we're allowed to have them). I don't think the Democrats have lost a Presidential election since Dukakis.

It would be appalling to lose an honest election to one of those Republic toads, but I don't see it happening.

I am of the view that Gore won Florida in 2000, and Kerry won Ohio in 2004
Don't be surprised if the same shit happens again next year!

While we can blame the GOP for stolen elections, we must recognized that there are too many influential and powerful Democrats with a vested interest in not challenging election results. They pressured Gore to concede in 2000, and pressured Kerry to do the same in 2004 (Kerry threw in the towel almost immediately).

48. Blame it on the education of the voters
or lack thereof. And I mean from kindergarten on up. The dumbing down of America ensures that there is a great lack of capablilty of critical thinking. Consider No Child Left Behind and those Eloi who support it. Consider outcome based education. Consider that Civics is not taught in the public schools for the most part. Consider that Americans watch reality shows (BTW I love them!) instead of reading.
