Is Kucinich a real contendah???
I've regarded Dennis Kucinich as a guy with a good heart, he means well and he is a non-pretentous sort. That's about it on any deep consideration I've had for DK. If by some cosmic event DK were in a position to be considering veep candidates, republic/libertine Ron Paul???
Is this a convoluted way to get attention or something? Would love input on why this choice..

Call it the liberal-libertarian ticket, where left meets right and Democrat Dennis Kucinich picks Republican Ron Paul to be his vice president.

Kucinich, the Cleveland congressman running in a longshot bid to become president, suggested it himself today.

“I’m thinking about Ron Paul” as a running mate, Kucinich told a crowd of about 70 supporters at a house party here, one of numerous stops throughout New Hampshire over the Thanksgiving weekend. A Kucinich-Paul administration could bring people together “to balance the energies in this country,” Kucinich said.

2. The Ron Paul thing is a dead issue
I called the campaign and they refuted everything in the article claiming this.

Kucinich was asked a question if he had to select a Republican running mate which one would he choose from a reporter. That's when he said Ron Paul. A staffer on his message board posted it.

3. Was that the question?
Jeezus, if so, that's the most awful and misleading bit of spin against a candidate I've seen in a long time.

6. Yeah, and that was his wife's evil twin in that video clip.
If that was the question put to Kucinich his only response should have been "none".

17. You would think after the false "Kerry-McCain" hypefest in 2004, people would know better.
If I remember correctly, Kerry supposedly said he would "consider" it as well.

12. Notice that the words...as a running mate...are not in quotes like the first part of the sentence is
As with so many of these articles, the authors combine parts of what someone actually said with a phrase of their own so they can mislead an entire continent.

13. Just found this old interesting comments about Kucinich and Paul
(I have no idea who Roger L. Simon is):

I think both of these men became highly-rigid narcissists decades ago. Their entire public personae ... and the attention they crave... are totally dependent on maintaining an inviolable public image. You can invariably predict everything they are going to say, every attitude they take. There is never a surprise, because they are playing roles they have chosen for themselves and for which they were rewarded with public and media attention from years in the past. If they changed their positions and became more reasonable, even in a few areas, they would simply disappear because they no longer fulfilled their roles.

This disappearance, of course, is intolerable to the narcissist. The point - for both Kucinich and Paul- is not to win, but to bask in that reflected glow that justifies their existence. This is also an indication why both do not appear to listen when others talk. To do so would be to have their thought processes challenged and to risk change. What fascinates me in this, however, is that, unlike in national polls where they barely register, a large number of people in their home areas actually voted for the Congressmen.

15. Yes, Dennis is a contendah
No, Ron Paul won't be on the ticket. Hopefully BOTH will be the nominees of their respective parties, and kick off a national discussion of REAL issues in this country.
