1. I assume you're talking about the primary?
In my state, we're supposed to vote in April. I will vote for Dean.

6. Hypothetically, though.
If Dean were not on the ballot, would you vote for one of the Dem contenders, or would you drop out and support Nader?

10. If he were not on the ballot in the primaries, and if the above
choices were all I had, I'd probably not vote in the primary at all.

2. This is EXACTLY...
why in my other thread I said that Nader is a serious threat. He is going to get a huge part of the Dean vote, divide the left and let Bush win AGAIN.

11. Really?
I have a decent list of ways Kerry and Edwards are *not* like Bush... how's about you take a look?

Thanks for seeing that, no matter how bad Kerry is, he's an improvement over Bush, btw.

19. I agree......
I see kerry and the DLC insiders as Dean's enemy.... thus he is not my choice.....if kerry gets the nomination, I will never work for him and will write-in Dean on the ballot.

I'm working with Edwards camp for the soul mission of keeping kerry in the Senate.

12. Part of the Kucinich vote too, should Kucinich not win the
nomination. There are still plenty of idealists out there.

27. Dean attracted a lot of Greens -- you don't know how many
who voted above are really Greens, now, do you? You couldn't reasonably rely on them to vote Dem just because YOU think they should.

Too, the Nader hating frenzy of fear has been so amusing that there could be a lot of people just stoking that fire.

And THEN there's always this old saw: "DU isn't America."

33. Nah, this is DU.
It doesn't really represent the Dean vote overall because you may have noticed by now there are people on here who say and do some really weird and theatrical things compared to the rest of the nation.

Edited on Sat Feb-21-04 05:06 PM by jonnyblitz

7. Your poll left out the most attractive option
"Write in Howard Dean"

That is what I intend to do, and you might be interested to know that a large and growing number of Democratic voters are vowing to do the same.

My sincere apologies to the Annointed One's obedient masses. I won't be joining you on your orders.

18. What will I do?
Breathe and think a lot in the coming months. Probably cry some too, either because I'm a puss or because this country has rejected the change I feel is essential to our progress as a nation.

I don't know what to do. I do know it is time to do something different. What that different thing may be I'm still figuring out.

24. I will vote for but not support the nominee
I won't lift a finger. I'll busy myself with other elections and political business. That is where my resources will go. Let all the people who have shown so much support in the primaries carry the nominee. Let them put their money and effort where their votes were.

We will soon see how enthusiastic that support really is. ;-)

30. Bad poll
Dean is ON the ballot in every state.

There is no need to write him in!

Since this is a primary poll, why are you including ABB?

Want to go back to the drawing board?

31. Just out of curiosity, how many states have JOHN Buchanan on their ballot?
Maybe a bunch of right wingers who hate PNAC will vote for him, thinking it's Pat Buchanan? Pat shouldn't mind, after all the free votes he got in Florida last time.

32. I'm afraid that banner is more a souvenir than anything else...
John Buchanan got a couple of thousand votes in his homestate of NH and that's going to be it. This is the guy who broke the recent stories about Bush-Nazi WW2 connections. He made some fiery speeches and spread word about the 9/11 coverup. A series of full page ads in the Manchester Union-Guardian in the primary week highlighted the same issue (this paper was being read by the assembled press corps of the world, keep in mind). He's my Republican primary candidate, regardless. I'll be a good boy and vote the Democrat in November, and in the meantime I'll be smart and work on issues, not for faces.

In Nov. it's a toss up - vote the nominee or stay home.
I plan on supporting Dean's new movement to win back the House, Senate and local races.
