We may not agree with Ron Paul...

But we should want to take a closer looking at the Ron Paul voter and bring him/her into our camp.

Would you like to know more? http://conceptualguerilla.com/?q=node/877

22. Why?
Great question. What is the real truth behind so many DUers starting Ron Paul threads. Could this be the reason...

"For those who thought a Democratic congress would end the war in Iraq, think again: their new budget proposes supplemental funds totaling about $150 billion in 2008 and $50 billion in 2009 for Iraq. This is in addition to the ordinary Department of Defense budget of more than $500 billion, which the Democrats propose increasing each year just like the Republicans."

- Congressman Ron Paul M.D.

6. Ron Paul believes in small government
no government programs. If you are sick, or poor, or elderly. Tough!

How can anyone who believes in the good that a government can do support him?

Oh, and I believe that the good gynecologist thinks that it his business to tell women what they should do with their bodies.

8. Nope--don't think so
A repuke by any other name is still a repuke. DU is for Dems that are Dems, not for Dems who are DINOs--or anyone with a (R) next to their name.

13. With a few exceptions, looks pretty o.k. to me....
If his supporters support these goals, we have a lot of common ground.

15. I thought it was pretty interesting too...
But there are a lot of things NOT mentioned ~ like choice, the environment, universal healthcare, etc.

Not sure how DK and RP would work together on things like that.

20. Carefully doesn't mention Paul is anti-environment on every issue from CAFE standards to ANWAR
drilling, anti-immigration on every issue from building a border wall to reporting undocumented residents who bring their children to the emergency room, anti-choice, anti-affirmative action, and he'd abolish Medicare and Medicaid while privatizing Social Security and the public school system.

In short, he's crazier than Gravel.

not very. Let them self destruct.

14. Ron sounds good on the war and on the Patriot Act but he's batshit crazy on most every other issue.
I think his supporters are as likely to vote for the Great Pumpkin as Hillary. If Obama or Edwards wins the nod, perhap we ought to revisit the issue.

19. There is a lot of common
ground re the patriot act, habeus corpus and the war though not much else. If he loses the nomination those voters who support him over those issues would be good for us to scoop up. The problem is that Dennis is the only one who is bringing up those issues not the top three as far as I can tell. There are a lot of people alarmed about the errosion of our rights on both sides of the isle.

17. No thanks. Ron Paul wants to privatize everything, so if you're working poor
without health insurance, his policy would be tough luck. Furthermore, I don't like the fact that white supremacists are supporting him.

26. It depends on why someone is considering a Ron Paul vote.
If they are taking Ron Paul seriously because he opposes the war, opposes the Patriot Act, opposes NAFTA, and knows the government lied about 9-11, then hell yes, they should vote with us.

If they support Ron Paul because they want to dismantle the Federal Government, then we don't need them. We have too many corporate enablers now as it is, unfortunately.

At least if it was Kucinich vs Paul in the general, REAL issues would be discussed, and not the bullshit we have been sold the last 7 years.
