Poll question: Will you vote for the Democratic Nominee in November?
Edited on Sat Feb-21-04 12:50 PM by WillyBrandt
If you are CERTAIN to vote for the Democratic nominee in November, regardless of who the nominee is, vote 'Yes'

Otherwise, vote 'No'

1. surprising results so far
Looks like at best, a lot of people are undecided about whether or not they'll vote for the Ham Sandwich this year!

6. Oath? What "oath"? I didn't see any oath taking or oath-asking...
What a nonsensical description and characterization of this poll. It's a poll, nothing more.

3. Voted 'yes'.
Bush loses in November.

Also liked your "Pabst" logo -- wasn't it Frank Booth in BLUE VELVET who said, "Pabst, goddamit! PABST!" ?

16. I think the line was
"Heineken? Pabst F#@$ing Blue Ribbon!"

Very disturbing movie. Love Dennis Hopper though.

17. Oh yeah -- that's it.
I remembered Frank's enthusiasm but screwed up the quote.

Sorry.

Lynch said that Dennis Hopper called him up in the middle of the night during the casting period and said, "I AM Frank Booth."

What a movie.

4. I Truly Hope We Can Avoid The Silly "What-If's" That Ignore Reality...
The reality is that either Kerry or Edwards will be the nominee... and it's likely to be Kerry.

It's very frustrating to see people trying to "validate" their NO response with crap like: "Well, if it were STALIN I'd have to vote no." --- "Not if it were LaRouche."

The identity of who the Democratic nominee is pretty much a done-deal. (Yeah, yeah... 'not-over-yet'... I hear ya... but facts is facts.)

15. Exactly
I have no understanding how those who vote *No* don't realize that their NOT supporting whoever the nominee is means that they ARE supporting *! Just boggles my mind.

Since voting no if undecided was a part of the conditions.

18. Half-empty can of coke, carbon rod, take your pick
I would even vote for Zell Miller over dumbya because, as a Democrat, he would be drawn to the center by fellow Dems and their political clients (interest groups such as labor, enviros, minorities).

Politics is war by other means, people! It's like you're in a fox hole and mean ole bush is dropping 5-inch shells all around you. One of them kills your company commander. Now, do you refuse to follow the guy who takes his place because you don't like his position on campaign-finance reform?

I think not.

10. I remember when Ronnie ran 20 years ago
Edited on Sat Feb-21-04 12:46 PM by fortyfeetunder
I had an excruciating 4 years under Ronald Reagan, yes one of the unemployed...and damn it if he didn't win again. Now for all those folks who are suffering under Dubya vote for him in 2004 because they think he's better than the Democratic candidate, they shall get what they deserve...

19. Bright side to Republican rule
If things play out the way I'm thinking, our economy is going to have a double-dip recession. And the second dip will make the first one look like a pothole compared to the Grand Canyon. If the 'thugs hold on to power in '04, it will be crystal clear to Joe Sickspak who is to blame, and it is not part of Bill Clinton's anatomy.

Democrats will be put into power to see us through, as they did in the '30s.

I know it will be a miserable two years, watching our court system get packed with Klan sympathizers, the environment turned into a planet-sized toxic waste dump, etc. etc.

I understand Reagan got elected Gov of CA with the help of folks who thought, "We'll get this bozo elected, and it'll sour us for conservative bozos for all time." We all know how well that strategy worked out.

25. It's true. Had we said we would consider voting for Nader, he
would not have run. But given the groundswell against him, he decided to run. Makes perfect sense.

It is what internet message board posters do that decides Nader's mind.

26. LOL! I Can See Nader Lurking At DU To See If He Can Find "Crap Like This"
to motivate him to run for president.

Wake up and smell reality. There is no cause-and-effect between DU polls and Nader running. Good fucking grief.

I am ineligible to vote in 2004. Therefore, I won't be voting for anybody, even if I want to.
