Fellow Clark Supporters--I'm out till the primaries are decided
Edited on Sat Feb-21-04 10:38 AM by WillyBrandt
I just can't be wasting all this time arguing with Naderians. There too much important work to do; flattering the egos of jokers with mock-arguments isn't among them. I'm mad as hell, and I just can't take it any more!

There's a stack of books to read, my nascent career, pretty women, cleaning my apartment, etc. Arguing Skull and Bones with the convinced or the nuances of Nader with the nuts is a sad way to spend one's hours. If you choose to keep up the good fight, you have my applause and appreciation--though I must say I'm not sure it's the best use of time.

Anyway, great showing Clark supporters! I'll still be in DU/Lounge now and then, but I'm banning myself from the Primary forum until one candidate either has sufficient delegates to win or some cataclysmic event occurs.

I's gots no times for the jibber-jabber!

1. Take a break. The noise will die down
Nader isn't going to have enough support to make any difference anyway.

Enjoy the vacation.:hi:

2. To all of you who want out of the primary forum
(And I don't blame you)

I think it's worth reminding you of the "Hide GD:2004" function...

To remove GD:2004 threads from the Latest Page, go to your preferences page and set "Hide the GD: 2004 forum?" to "Yes".

(Sorry for crashing your thread.)

4. Ignore doesn't work that well for me. I'm always too curious ...
If I make it a rule I won't post past....right now!....then that'll work better :)

And thank you Skinner for all the work you do here. Your posts are always a nice bit of sanity.

3. I'm with you
I lurk in GD04, and occasionally post. But I kinda lost interest in the primaries. Wake me up when the nominee has been decided. I'll support whoever they put up there. I know that might not sit well with most here, but I am ABB all the way.

I've been enjoying the lounge much more lately.

And don't forget that rip-roaring ATA forum! Highly entertaining.

5. Hey Willy
I've been a bit absent from this forumn as well. It seems that now that we're down to two viable candidates, GD has turned ugly. Rules or no rules, people are taking sides and pitching forks (at each other.)

Not much fun, trying to slap down the same ol' tired rhetoric. I'll lurk (like you, hiding things only makes me all the more curious), but I think maybe I'll do some cleaning too.

See you after the big NOM.

R~

17. I'll join the Pile On. I mean "pile out". This forums gotten silly.
See yall in the Lounge or plain old Discussion. But this sort of bow out is exactly the diet my overweight to-do list needs.

6. I'm taking a break, also.
I can't handle the squabbling after all the energy I put in Clark's campaign.

No wonder the general public tires of it as well.

7. I'm going to be limiting my time here also.
Real life is calling! I've still not completely gotten over the loss of Clark, although I'm soldiering on. My support has gone to Kerry, but my heart and soul aren't with him like they were/are with Clark. Time will heal the wounds, especially if he's on the Kerry ticket.

You're the best Willie!

8. I'm taking a break too.
I'm rooting for Kerry now but with no great passion or money. All the rich insiders can support him, no problem. His original supporters can do the footwork...I just have no interest or passion.
I'm staying home now and will lurk a little...er...a lot. If the race really gets close and things get exciting I'll lurk more often. I'm going to enjoy the other forums for now. See ya over there!
But I'll never stop being a Clark Democrat. I'm enjoying more free time now to do other things, but as soon as Clark starts taking a more active role or gets in the news, IIIIIII'llll be back. Now I have to go and read/delete my 800 unread/read email Clark digests. Time to clean house!

10. Break time for me as well. I liked Kucinich/Clark/Dean, so
there really isn't much of interest to me anymore. Will vote ABB, so who gives a shit between now and the GE? I was SICK when Nader announced, and I don't have the heart to go thru all the Nader shit for 6 months. I used to like the guy, and I still think he is right on lots of issues, but dern, GO AWAY for this election! Your vanity is getting the better of you!

9. The anti-ABB stuff is getting to me, too
The pro-Nader stuff. The third party stuff. In WWII, they'd have been called collaborators. They are at least enemies of the Democratic Party in this fight against the Bushites. I'd use my X button, but there'd be few threads to read these days. I'll try it, though, I guess. See what happens.

11. You have to remember that those threads are started by
people with agendas. Their goal is to create turmoil and split the party. Some people aren't who they say they are.

13. Some are and some are not
But when you've been around here long enough (this is my second user account), there are people you know are who you think they are. Those are the ones I pay attention to when they say stuff like this, not people who have just come onboard.

12. Thanks WesDem for once again calling it like it is.
A lot of people don't seem to realize how similar our current adm. is to the Hitler fascists.

18. I've become
more of a reader than a poster in the last couple of weeks. Most of the stuff I'd like to post I can't because I'd get warnings.

I feel bad that my first choice won't become the nominee but I'm not going to spiral into depression over it or threaten to go third party over it, either. I'm not going to respond to those that do, either.

Hang in there, it will be over soon. Maybe I'll spend more time in the Lounge, too. :hi:

19. Come home to United for Clark

CCN is hopping too.
I can't take the non-Clark news much anymore either - I had lost habit of feeling totally powerless...
Still, we are organizing and acting on our little group (700+), it's hardly only idle chatter.
Remember the voting guide

If I see Clark on the ballot, I vote for him.
If I see Bush on the ballot, I vote against him.
Simple.
Can't go wrong with that!

20. Very understandable, will be doing the same
Although not a Clark person, I wanted to agree that I foresee a Nader explosion in endless threads here by Nader lovers and Democratic party bashers if he should run, which looks likely. I find this subject boring and always stayed away from it in the past here, but now it will be inescapable in this forum with the faux geniuses explaining to mere mortals how voting third party makes sense. {I still don't know why anyone would want Bush in office for four more years} Also, I'm sure some dittoheads will join in the fun (under cover of being a Nader supporter) as well and this forum will be overrun by supposed Nader backers.

21. I'm with you
I tried to bring up a substantive issue (faux "leftists" peddling racism in a joint effort with the far RW) but seeing as that didn't rouse interest, I concluded there's no "there" there, just rebel-rousing.

Not entertained I am, by cross-dressed trolls.

More important things to do, so yeah - I'll peek in every now and then.

See y'all after the nomination.
