Poll question: Will you take anyone you now have on "ignore" OFF "ignore" once our nominee has been chosen?
Edited on Sun Nov-18-07 10:39 PM by jenmito
Just wondering, since right now so many of us disagree on who the nominee should be, and so many discussions get heated, but once we HAVE our nominee will we all just get along? I will.

If not, please explain why.

16. Well, a few people claimed to put me on ignore for no real reason other than,
IMO, not wanting to answer a question or debate with me. The reason I did it is because they were vulgar and baiting me.

13. I have 2 people on ignore because one kept cursing me out and daring me
to "make them" try to prove something, and another kept trying to get me banned, accusing me of ganging up on him/her (I forget the term for it). And a couple posters said they put ME on ignore just because I asked one if he'd vote for he called "Barack Hussein Obama" and another because s/he disagreed with me.

15. Same here
I never have used the ignore button yet, although I'm sure I've made it on a few peoples lists

What I don't understand is why would anyone have to use the ignore function? Like can't you just ignore someone anyway, without using the function, if you really want to ignore them?

4. I don't put people on ignore.
However, if I'm ever tempted, it would more likely come right after the nominee is chosen if the nominee is corporate and the supporters full of themselves.

though I've been really, really tempted to do so several times.

Then again, there's much time before next Summer and things will get even more toasty in here. Thick skin required...

25. I have never used ignore
But I do think that once a nominee has been chosen through our democratic primary process, the board administrators are well within their rights to compel all active DUers to support that nominee.

29. There's one poster here,
CyberPieHole, who made fun of Obama, saying, "Yeah, right, President Barack Hussein Obama! " and then when I asked if he'd vote for him if he's the nominee, he refused to answer. Then suddenly he claimed to have me on ignore.

30. I'll keep the two people on my ignore list
Edited on Sun Nov-18-07 11:23 PM by lwfern
One was trolling the women's rights forum in stupid ways which I'm sure they thought were clever.

The other, I forget what the issue was with them, probably again being a sexist ass, or racist.

They are both on pm-block. Maybe in a public thread a lurker will get something out of the conversation. But it doesn't matter who the nominee is, I just don't have time in my life for private moments with bigots who serve no purpose except disruption. Life's too short. :)

32. Regardless of who wins the nom
They will all go off ignore. If I am willing to support and work for the candidate the party chooses, then I will alert on dissent and let the mods make the call. If the nomination is not someone I am willing to work for, then I will head for the lounge and stay out of the political discussions.

That is how I plan to keep my happy place. :)

35. I have had two people on ignore, one person was tomb-stoned never to return
The other person just keeps repeating corporate talking points.

The sad thing is each time I see an ignore on a thread, I just laugh at all of the people attempting to talk (type) sense to this person.

36. No.
The people in my killfile have displayed a concerted and continuing inability to obey the prevailing community standard for civil behavior, admit mistakes, adjust their attitudes in the face of compelling evidence, make logical arguments, use standard English, or avoid harping on a single point to the degree that they might as well cut and paste the same post over and over to save time. In fact, I expect to have a larger killfile once the nominee is chosen, because a vast number of people who supported unsuccessful candidates will use the occasion to act like fuckwits.

38. I have a few folk on Ignore
because their posts in general just irritate me. For example, people who feel the need to post a thread everytime they scratch their ass. Or who constantly brag on themselves. People I'd ignore in real life, I ignore on DU too.
