8. Listen I live in NY state and both our Senators have..........
run themselves ragged around this state. NY is much more than the city. The years of Pothole Al D'Amato were nothing more than Republican patronage and glad handing. He got his name because he never saw a pothole that didn't need filling. He did nothing for the "little people". Pothole Al can't wipe Hillary shoes. She has stepped up to the plate time and time again on many people orientated issues. Both she and Sen. Schumer secured funding for the Purple Heart Hall of Honor which languished for years when Republicans were in charge. I say NY has been indeed fortunate in having her as our Senator (carpet bagger or not) she has earned the right to be called a New Yorker and our Senator.

10. Back before she was running for president
an Iraqi veteran, injured in battle had serious injuries and was flown back to his base to recuperate. When he got there he found that when he was flown from Iraq after an IED injury and to Germany for life saving operations, his equipment was left in Iraq. Thru the months he spent in the hospital his pay was garnished by the government to pay for this equipment that was not turned in. He didn't have money for food or shelter after the hospital released him. He was married so he didn't qualify for the mess hall. AND since the army took his pay he didn't have money to get back to his home state. HE CONTACTED HILLARY CLINTON, SHE MADE ARRANGEMENTS FOR FOOD AND LODGING AND HIS TRIP HOME. SHE ALSO WENT TO BAT FOR HIM TO HAVE HIS PAY RE-INSTATED AND HIS BACK PAY.

So don't tell me she isn't for the veterans. And don't tell me she can't be trusted. It is the Hillary haters that can't be trusted. They twist and spin everything about her. But you don't see the Hillary supporters especially on this list slurring and flaming and slamming the other candidates. Hillary supporters have class and character just like the woman they support.

23. Kerry has done that hundreds of times, and Hillary knows it - so when she joined Bush
to smear Kerry as attacking the troops, she could have said the truth and that she knows Kerry has worked his entire career supporting the troops. Bush and the vast RW conspiracy to smear another Democrat and a veteran himself so falsely should be condemned.

But, instead she decided to get oncamera and join with Bush and support the troops Bush's way.

39. Yep.
And that was the start of my...shall we call it 'hesitance' about Hillary.

I was a big fan of Bill, and supported him when everyone I knew was turning on him - I thought that NAFTA had been undermined by the republican congress that removed the protections it was, I thought, supposed to have. I thought that 'Don't ask, don't tell' was misinterpreted and misused by the military, and that it was a fair compromise in its original intent. I donated to Hillary's senate race.

But the day she accepted the slander of Kerry at face value I knew that she and the DLC were trying to undermine him to preserve her own chance for '08.

And I've been pissed at her ever since.

(This is why I was not surprised to hear her supporters BOOING other democrats in LV. She will do whatever it takes - and THAT is sad.)

we Kentuckians have labored under McConnell and Bunning. I know that Hillary exposed the government for saying the 9/11 area was safe, when they knew it was not. And of course our illustrious pres blamed Whitman when he was exposed as the slimy liar he is, even though Whitman had tried to get the true results released.

21. So what?
This is not out of the ordinary.

And I'm sure I could find stories of Jesse Helms doing the same thing here is NC. That doesn't mean I could trust him any farther than I could throw him.

How does this fit in with her "mandated health insurance for everyone"?
Well, it might be noted, he said it was something "his insurance didn't cover".

The SYSTEM should be watching out for this man and his family, not the good graces of who happens to be his senator.

NY has what, 20 million residents? Is she going to do the same for every one of them?

It's a nice story, but that's all it is.

It makes no difference. It's good politics and taking care of your own constituents, which is expected of a senator.

That Hillary and Helms both did it doesn't mean that she's a goddess or that he is not satan's second son.

One story about one person, and it didn't cost HER a cent. She won't back universal health care that will relieve similar worries for everybody. Or HAS she personally intervened to keep ALL New Yorkers from declaring medical bankruptcy?

Either Clinton's office simply relayed information to the family about a pre-existing policy of the hospital (or NY State) or they persuaded the hospital to make an exception for this one family.

Dunno the answer to that. But it matters.

If I'm in, I'll keep the HMOs, the insurance companies, and the corporate profits in the loop. So, you want to play ball with me, or let some socialist take all your money?" *
