She's bleeding support in Iowa and NH. If she comes in a solid second, she's probably in good shape going into NH and the other early primary states. If she comes in third, she's gonna be in a hell of a position.

16. That's because they are helping Guiliani.
They're just deflecting. I wonder if they will use the Hillary excuse. "Everybody does it."

2. I agree.
The only thing I can't see is her coming in third. After the last debate, thats highly improbable.

3. There'll be a huge gap between second and third. So big 'third' might be 'all the others'
Second place might get only 1/3 of the overall votes.

10. In Iowa there is always 3 solid tickets out of town.
Dean would have been fine @ third four years ago if it hadn't been for 'the Scream'. She can come in third and still do well in NH or NV or SC.

6. I think she can still win even if she loses Iowa in third place
She is leading the polls with huge leads in most of the other states, like 30 point and 20 point leads. I think Hillary basically has a 90% chance of winning the nomination.

7. Not to be contrary, but third may well be better than second.
If Hillary is third then, by definition, the race is not reduced to two people going into New Hampshire. If she is second then the third place finisher is almost certainly crippled.

(You can see where I'm going here...)

8. 2nd place for Clinton in Iowa would not surprise me,
3rd place would be pretty shocking. That being said,I think she'll squeak out a win in Iowa.

12. While everyone wants momentum,
its not necessarily true she will be in a world of trouble. But losing front runner status will hurt, especially with all the surrounding media speculation that will occur.

13. I have a feeling something big will happen in Dec and everyone will join to endorse Hillary for the
good of the Country and the party. She will be then the only candidate and the Iowa caucus will only be an unneeded formality.

15. Isn't she "inevitable"? I would think even a 2nd place win would badly damage her.
Anything that indicates she might not take at least 40 primary states (including most of the early ones) would be highly damaging to her campaign at this stage.
