Bush to Honor Noble Prize Winners at White House Monday
Oh, the irony!

WASHINGTON (AFP) — Former US vice president Al Gore will make a triumphant return to the White House on November 26 when US President George W. Bush honors US Nobel Prize winners, a Bush spokesman said Friday.

It will be Gore's first time visiting Bush at the White House since the Republican took office in January 2001 after the flawed 2000 election pitting them against each other ended with a controversial US Supreme Court ruling.

White House spokesman Tony Fratto said Gore would be part of a group of five US Nobel laureates that Bush will welcome into the Oval Office.

The former vice president, who served under Bill Clinton from 1993-2001, has enormously boosted his international standing with an aggressive campaign to sound the alarm over climate change.

Gore won the Nobel Peace prize for his efforts earlier this year, while his related documentary "An Inconvenient Truth" won him an Oscar.

The Bush administration has loudly denounced the former vice president for his criticisms of the war in Iraq and of a once-secret program allowing the US government to spy on US citizens inside the United States without a warrant.

1. Choke on it, Georgie.
I don't mean that metaphorically.

2. History has conspired to make us a hell of a photo.
Little Dubya sitting in Gore's chair across from Gore. The universe needs to watch out at that moment. The paradox may be too great, the rightness/wrongness gradient too steep for our metaphysics.

3. This will be fun.
Gore will be calm and gracious, as always, while george will look like he's just had to eat a lemon.

8. I had to laugh when I saw this...

Here is a man, who should have sat in the Oval Office, being honored by a moron that got us stuck in an ugly war, and the "defeated Gore is the man who received the (shared) Nobel Peace Prize!

So, in the recent past, we have two D's that received the Prize, Carter and Gore...odd how there are no recent R's that can claim that honor...:D

And to think, Limabugh crowed about being a "nominee" after some stooge friend of his wrtote a letter to the Nobel Committe, (which I would suppose brought some intersting looks from said committee).
