"Joe is Right"
http://firstread.msnbc.msn.com/archive/2007/11/16/470955.aspx

From NBC's Domenico Montanaro
It's a trend we've noticed at the debates, that many of the Democratic candidates -- sometimes more than once a debate -- will say, "Joe is right" or they agree with him on one stance or another (usually foreign policy.)

I say at the next debate, we have a new drinking game - anytime one of the others agree with Biden, we drink!

2. I've avoided those drinking games for fear of serious liver damage
I keep thinking that the weight of this campaign will drag down Clinton and Obama leading way to a Biden nomination (or perhaps Edwards, although he's been in the thick of some of this drama).

One can hope!

8. I am hoping for the same thing, or that voters will just wake up.

3. A very special reader's comment from the link
I hate this war with a passion, and I have good reason. My husband, father to our four children is in Iraq for his second 15 month tour. He will come home this time a different person than he was when he left, just like he did when he came home the first time. I'll have to get to know him all over again. So will our kids...God bless and protect Joe Biden for voting to fund the troops. He understands that if he does not, they will be the ones who suffer. I want this war over just as badly as you obviously do, but I want my husband as safe as possible while he is fulfilling his oath. Biden has made sure that our troops are given more Mine Resistant vehicles, when Bush and Co. didn't want to. Biden has fought for our troops harder than darn near anyone else. He knows more about foreign policy than any of the other candidates, and I believe that he is the best chance the Democratic party has to not only win this election, but restore the dignity and credibility of the Office of the President in the United States and around the world.

Please, we don't need a media anointed candidate, we need Joe Biden.

6. We've had 8 years of a media annointed candidate
and look where that has gotten us.

14. I beg to differ
Kerry was not "annointed" by the media until he started winning one primary after another, and Gore... well, he was the VP. And both were/are excellent choices. Not to mention excellent men.

7. Biden seems to attract voters with more mature expectations from their government
i think biden supporters seem to occupy a middle ground between "realistic without being pessimistic" and "idealistic without being naive."

11. Realistic maybe
Not too much idealistic nor pessimistic, but anchored in reality is what his supporters are. We know he's not perfect and his votes haven't all gone the way we would have liked, but he seems to have integrity and class, lots of class. He'd be the one to shore up our friendships with other countries and at least improve relationships with non-friendly ones.

13. "Do you really want a president who you would NOT think would make a good secretary of state?"
Not sure where I heard that line, but it seems to sum up his quals. He's the one onstage who most deserves to be president.

16. I'll second that Amen and raise you one
Biden is our last best hope. He's eminently electable.

Inuca -- my thoughts and prayers go out to you and your entire family. May your husband staff safe until President Biden can bring him home.
