Biden/Obama
Edited on Fri Nov-16-07 02:01 PM by blm
Looked just about right for this time in our nation last night.

Not ruling out Dodd or Edwards yet - and am respecting more than ever Edwards willingness to speak to the corruption issue that SHOULD be the greatest focus for ANY citizen who believes in Open Government of the people, by the people, for the people and accountable TO the people.

http://consortiumnews.com/2006/111106.html

Bush2 has proven beyond a shadow of a doubt that closed government that protects the secrecy and privilege of the powerful instead of the citizens' right to know is a curse to our party and to our nation.

3. I like that ticket
ill even take it either way biden/obama obama/biden.

Although i think joe would be more effective as VP than Obama just because of his relationships in the senate. I think he could push a lot of deals in the background while letting Obama be the mouthpiece.

I think it would be a very effective combination.

4. Actually, it would be best for America for Biden to be president...
and Obama to be v.p. because Biden knows how to get things done and knows most of the world leaders. Obama is smart and could learn all he needs to know to make a successful run for president in 8 years. I'd be perfect. The other way around doesn't really make sense because you have the president always turning to the vp for information. I think we've tried that recently with disastrous results.

12. I cant argue too much with that
Except for the fact that i dont think Obama would be as effective as joe in the VP slot.

But like I said I will take that ticket either way without many complaints.

18. I think Obama would be on fire either way - I could see him being in charge
of domestic policy while Biden focuses the first term on fixing US policy.

Usually First term is spent on domestic issues but that is impossible for ANY president right now.

6. Experience in foreign policy and the corruption that drives it matters to me.
Biden is familiar with it almost as much as Kerry, though he approached it from the view of foreign policy more than the exposing of the corruption as Kerry did.

Obama is coming down on the side of Gary Hart, John Kerry, Ted Kennedy's worldview and would be a compatible fit with Biden.

21. Quite seriously, I think Biden would give Obama serious consideration.
They would make good use of each other and the result would be good for America. Biden would expect a lot from Obama. For one thing, I'm sure he sees Barack as the future of America and, loving this country as he does, Biden would do everything he could to make sure Obama learned all he needs to know to be a great president. And Sen. Obama, being as smart and passionate as he is, would take full advantage of the learning opportunity. It would be great for Democrats and great for America.

27. Obama is already taking advice from the progressive foreign policy minds
instead of the hawkish Clinton-Lieberman wing of our party. THAT is a great indicator of the path he wants to follow on national security.

29. I'm beginning to see that they could handle it fine, since GOPs have nowhere
near the credibility with the public that they had the ten years prior.

11. I really thought Biden was outstanding last night
he's smarter than I thought. I'm predisposed not to like him due to some of his votes in the Senate, but , he's really appealing on a gut level. I can't help myself. I like him.

15. As a veteran of nine Presidential campaigns, I'm a realist
I always work for the one I feel has the most important message, and has the charisma to impress the youth. Obama has that.

Hillary , representing the status-quo, has charisma, but she's on a tight tight leash.
No so Joe Biden.

I think people will be surprised by this years primary. It's not going to end with Iowa. It might come down to the convention, like it was meant to be. If that happens, Joe Biden will be in the mix, no question.

17. I'm certain if it came down to a series of Biden-Clinton debates, Joe sweeps
Funny, TeamClinton didn't think anyone would listen to him and that they could ignore his candidacy.

They could have undermined him the way they did Kerry for two years, but chose not to. They may be regretting not tripping him up within the party early on.

Biden has certainly stepped up his game - much more effective than his news interviews.

20. He can learn as easily as anyone else. Few have ever run national campaigns
and come off brilliant the first time around. It just doesn't happen. Look how naive Bill was about alot of things and people claim he's a genius.

I think Obama is realistically in a better position to take the frontrunner, but certainly agree the combination piqued my interest and (on edit) K&R the idea.
