I am not sure how anyone can claim Hillary won the debate
If you are voting on style over substance I can see the claim of a victory for HRC. As for substance I see her responses as being extremely weak.

CNN sucks ass and supports her?

5. She's a warmonger/fearmonger who wants a war with Iran and weasels about it - how's that?
That's what I take away from "I oppose the 'rush' to war" as opposed to "I oppose a war with Iran."

32. You seem to be in an uncommonly charitable mood.
And for once, I'm not going to ruin the civility with my trademark "being a raging asshole".

Here's to a resounding Democratic victory in '08!

implied I was a freeper for criticizing Hillary and you were going around from thread to thread jumping on people who would criticize her. How times have changed!!!

17. Yeah, it's amazing what a "yes" vote on Kyl-Lieberman
coupled with a "yes" vote on the IWR does for one's view of the universe. I was a party loyalist until confronted with this BS cavalier attitude toward war.

13. I saw a great deal of style points
not one fucking lick of substance. Excuse my while I puke and praise the lord that I am not a republican that promotes style over substance. I have not seen one damn bit of substance from her in the hour I have watched.

But hey, the talking heads say she won, and didn't George look so fucking Presidential on the carrier!

21. not my sour grapes!
Some of us make a good living sniffing out Bullshit, I know bullshit when I see it, and when I see it I call it out! Life is like a shit sandwich, the more bread you have the less shit you eat. Hillary ain't going to get you more bread. So you figure it out.

18. She's not impressive imo. She has a wicked machine working for her, and
that's why she's all the rage. But she isn't 'Bill' and I despise the people who will vote for her because of her husband.

35. I think that is a good point.
I think people are so appalled by the last seven years that a familiar name invokes warm and fuzzy feelings.

This is all about the top three.

And they were selling the Hillary is Dead meme.

She isn't dead, so she wins.

I thought Biden won the debate, however. I think that Edwards lost.

19. I agree. I was really shocked by the commentary on CNN after the debate.
I thought Obama hit it out of the park. His responses to her when they were engagaged in a back-and-forth were always the winner.

22. Please...do not think for yourself...
...the corporate, Republican-owned media is clearly
telling you that this was Hillary's night. They can't
drill into us enough that she redeemed herself. They're
practically falling all over themselves---ooohhing and ahhhing
over her splendid performance!

Just do your job as a good citizen. Listen to the media,
don't think for yourself and do a little shopping.

And for Pete's sake, don't even entertain the notion of
a progressive candidate! Too dangerous for our pals in
the corporate media who might lose money and face more
regulations!

Please! Just take their word for it!

24. I have the unique perspective of watching 10 to 15 minutes of analysis
prior to seeing any of the debate. It was all CNN talking heads, so I am not sure what was going on with the other networks. At the same time I was seeing the threads here claiming a Clinton victory matching what CNN told me. Then my lying eyes and ears watched the debate, damn the reality of it all.

23. Take one part disingenousness, two parts waffling, add a pinch
of self-delusion, stir slowly into a boiling pot of wishful thinking. Simmer for 12 minutes, remove from heat. Let stand for 5 minutes, fluff with denial and serve. Mm-mmm.

That's how people can claim Senator Clinton "won" the debate.

26. some comments from Hannity.com on who one - Hillary is currently leading

Hillary.. Not because she did anything but she was practicely shielded by CNN

Obama had a bad day..

I don't like any of them, but I thought Biden was the most down-to-earth and IMO was the best.

Obama had a bad hair day.

Kucinich has some pent up frustration.

Hillary is loud.

Edwards is long-winded.

Dodd is one angry fella.

Richardson talks so soft he could put you to sleep.

I'm no Democrat, but I was impressed with Biden. He seemed to be the most professional of the bunch. I can't believe Kucinich has been elected to anything higher than dogcatcher; that guy is nuts! Obama and Edwards seemed like two guys who are on a list for a job they aren't close to being qualified for, but are so eager for it, they refuse to see the reality of it (especially Obama). I thought Richardson and Dodd did alright, but their liberal colors seemed to show more than Biden's. If a Democrat stood up for the civil rights of the most defenseless humans in our midst, I might even vote for one (but it would have to be more than just lip service, the fact that none of them do now means they value politics over human life). I wasn't struck by Hillary as good or bad, which is probably the way she wanted this to go down; nice and safe.

29. They ALWAYS claim Hillary wins-part of the formula
Personally, this was a much better performance than the last one. I'm glad no one had to kick her while she was down.

Now, if she could just ditch her weak-ass advisors and disavow her DU dogs, she might have something.
