There have been some changes in my candidate preferences
My first choice is and will be Obama (unless he comes up with something outrageous). However, my new second choice is JOE BIDEN, with Edwards falling to third choice.

Got to say it: Joe Biden is an amazing candidate.

10. PS: Obama probably benefited tonight
He didn't have a great night, and lost some ground vs. Clinton (probably the same ground she lost to him last week), but seeing some of the reviews (like the Yepsen article) it looks like Edwards had an even worse night than I thought.

So maybe look for Obama, Kucinich and Biden to pick up some Edwards support in Iowa. (Which is a fair number of voters, given Edwards very good performance in the most recent polls)

31. I LOVE Biden!
Edited on Fri Nov-16-07 10:07 AM by RichGirl
I love all of them and think any one of them would make a great president. But...I honestly can't stand the thought of a 2008 presidential election with four white guys on the ticket. I'd love a Biden/Clinton or Clinton/Biden ticket.

I adore Obama but I think he needs a little more experience. He's young, his time will come. He's great at giving speeches but seems to flounder a lot in debates. This would be bad in a debate with the republican candidate. Especially if it's the silver-tongued liar Mitt Romney.

I do think we need a president who unites the country. But we need someone who goes at this from experience, knowing what they are up against, not idealism.

I really don't think I'll be needing a second choice, though.

that was like 'the bomb' for me

I love this guy, no pussyfooting around

and the best part is, you know Joe ain't bluffing, i'm sure he scared a few neocons tonight

17. I think some of the top tier supporters
may be afraid that Joe won't be electable. Which is legitimate in their eyes. But I believe Joe would mop the floor with any Republican. He already did it with Rudy in one sentence. AND, Joe will pull A LOT of Republican and Independent votes.

8. I've had a couple changes this primary season
At first it was Kucinich #1, Obama #2, Edwards #3

Then Kucinich #1, Edwards #2, no real #3

Now it is Kucinich #1, Edwards a weak #2, no real #3

19. Allowing your vote to be influenced by these debates = very bad
The time to decide about the candidates is a year or so in advance. Nothing we see today bears any resemblance to reality.

22. I'M REALLY SORRY ABOUT THAT....
hard to see any comparison between the two especially Joe Biden has done so much damage to the working and middle class America that's fighting for survival. Compare Obama's economic stance where he actually talks abut rolling back harsh bankruptcy laws and credit card company windfall rates - things Biden worked to put in place in the Biden 2005 Bankruptcy bill. Google and see for yourself
Biden 2005 Bankruptcy Bill

Pay special attention to the defeated amendments reviewed in the Daily Kos Diary.

Edited on Fri Nov-16-07 09:50 AM by youthere
and even though I disagree with Biden (and the other 17 Dems) voting for it, I see the bigger picture where that vote is concerned. On the whole, Biden has a repectable voting record. He's a strong candidate and I will be caucusing for him. It's disappointing so many here on DU campaign so strongly AGAINST someone else''s candidate rather than campainging FOR their own.

32. Why is everything construed as an attack
Thought DU was a place we could educate ourselves and others re positions rather than depending on media. If Joe Biden is the nominee I will be his #1 volunteer and I do mean hundreds of hours of phoning and canvassing.

29. Glad to hear it!
Of course, I am biased, as I'm a Biden supporter ;)

Obama is a great candidate, and he is my second choice and I would love to see a Biden/Obama ticket. The only reason I finally tipped to Biden over Obama was because of the foreign policy, but I would be proud to vote for Obama in the GE.
