I really like Dodd.
I don't know why, but I think he'd make a great president. I thought he handled the debate well tonight, his problem, though, is that he flies under the radar. He reminds me of Bob Graham from the 2003 primaries, which doesn't bode well for him. I wish he and Biden would gain traction, but oh well.

I think Dodd would make a decent VP candidate, but I doubt he'd get it with the winner most likely needing to shore up the south.

1. He's likeable, but doesn't come across as Presidential. nt

4. You may be right...
Of course, what is presidential? That definition has changed about as much as Michael Jackson's face over the years. Originally, a president had to be a scholar, someone with high appeal and class. You know, a strong intellectual and that has dramatically shifted over the years. I believe Kennedy was the last president to achieve that type of presidential appeal. Johnson was far from being an intellectual giant (he was smart, but in a southern, simple way). Nixon wasn't very stately and looked like he probably stunk of whiskey. Both Ford and Carter were down to earth, very rural-style presidents and Reagan was an "actor" tough guy, while Bush was weak and Clinton sexy. So I guess I just don't know what presidential is anymore. Is it a statesman? Someone you want to have a beer with (isn't that how Bush won over middle America?), a cool, sexy guy with brains (Clinton), or a rural farmer (Carter)? Hard to say, I guess. To me, Dodd is the type of candidate that would win in the 1970s or 80s. He's a lot like his father in that regard.

2. I thought he was at his best tonight.
Maybe it was the format -- not having to watch the clock -- but I thought he was better tonight than in any of the debates so far.

I agree, he'd made a fine president.

3. Dodd was very good tonight
I loved Bob Graham, too. I supported him before Clark got into the race last time.

5. Drunken, I agree with you
I have been imagining Dodd as president for several months now. He's not my top candidate, but he might be if he caught on with more people. He could really take on the Republicans with his ability to answer questions in his no-nonsense way.

I thought this was his best debate to date. I was impressed.

7. I feel the same way about Dodd as I do about Biden -- that I'd feel we were
in good hands if either of them was in the White House.

13. This was Dodd's best debate performance so far
I think a lot of people will take notice who may have overlooked him before.

14. I'd also feel we'd be in good hands with the two of them and also with
Hillary or Richardson as VP. He's not charismatic enough to be president. But, he's be a great VP or somewhere in the administration. Man! We got such good candidates.

10. Yeah, speaking in Spanish was great. Wish I knew what he said, though.

Too bad we couldn't get both Bush and Dodd to hold a Spanish only debate.

And Richardson. Neither have much of a chance, though.

11. I thought Dodd did great, but Biden was the best
He just knew exactly the right answers. And he kept bringing the topic back from theoretical to real-life, down to earth.

Mike Gravel is my candidate, but we could do a lot worse than Dodd.

But I think Biden would do better in the general election.

21. Biden/Dodd would be a great ticket. I really don't think any of the
"Top Tier" are even remotely qualified to be President.
