We done good tonight, but over at Rudy's house...
Edited on Thu Nov-15-07 10:41 PM by Old Crusoe
...the mood was quite a bit more somber.

Sullen, even.

"America's Mayor" is likely having a bad day. It's been a week of more whispered scandal from early days. His pal Bernie Kerik is in the headlines and that's not a good thing. He can't bother to compete in Iowa because he's getting whomped there by Romney and now also by Huckabee and is in danger of falling into 4th place with the caucuses just a few weeks away..

And now there's the Democrats on tv tonight from Nevada, and Rudy sits in his chair watching, realizing that all his tough-guy strong-arming 9/11 bravado isn't going to be enough when he has to stand on a debate stage some night in September or October of next year against any one of these people.

John Edwards is so earnest and prepared on the issues that Rudy's big-city mayor profile will shrink to nothing. Rudy can't imagine how you get on top of issues like that.

Joe Biden knows the Constitution AND the world map.

Bill Richardson has been all over the world and is an energy expert to boot.

Obama has the rare gift of language where Rudy is often cement-tongued over the most ordinary subjects.

And the Clinton woman. She would have torn him limb from limb in that Senate race and dammit, here she is again ready to do it on a national scale. He's even behind her in the New Jersey polling for god's sake.

So it's a gloomy, irritable mayor who sits tonight watching our Democrats.

He knows he's outmatched.

1. If no one were allowed to post here without you vetting it first
DU would be a much more enjoyable read. Thanks for being the voice of reason, clear perception and good humor. You're a treasure, sir.

3. JeffR, there's some days I couldn't find the left side of my own ass with
a three way mirror.

'Would love to take your generous compliment but it belongs to you and many other DUers as well.

The feathers do fly here in primary season, but I've been the chief beneficiary of very enjoyable cyber-company and the many cyber-pals that come with a deep blue blog like that.

Awfully nice to run into you around these boards as usual.

7. The wisest among us refuse to make their wisdom a credential.
I just came up with that, but I think it's pretty succinct. Thanks, OC.

2. Poor Roody may be assigned to the couch for his nights rest. Ms.
Joodi can't be too pleased with this turn of events. I love your posts, thought Joe Biden was awesome tonight and I pity poor Rudy if he ever, ever has to debate him. Aren't we having fun though????

4. Very good point on Ms. Joodi. It's kind of difficult to obtain her
perspective on events since she's usually out torturing dogs.

Nevertheless, she likely pops in every now and then to see how many more points her husband has fallen in recent polling.

6. I'll bet he's wishing someone would waterboard that whole bunch and
wash them away. Yeah, it must be tough being Rudy tonight.

Now that I think of it...it must be tough to be any Republican or one of their supporters.

"you know where" and get a sense of their feelings on the debate. Hahaha, who am I kidding, I may have to have a bloody mary for that ordeal...

Never mind, they don't think. Although I wonder what they have to say about Rudy and Bernie?

11. What a great field of candidates we have.
I'm so impressed.

Rudy can streak around with "9/11" tattooed on his ass all he wants, he can't hold a candle to any one of them.

12. When any one of them speaks
I think okay that's it! I know who I'm voting for. But then another one says a brilliant and very cool thing that makes me think okay that's it! I know who I'm voting for. And I'm nowhere closer to knowing who I'm voting for. :silly:

But what a plethora of great choices! :patriot:

13. Agree. It's a terrific problem to have trying to choose among several
good choices.

Republican primary voters are of two schools this fall: those who are weeping in despair over their slate of candidates since their candidates are all creeps, crooks, and dunderheads, and those who are sketching plans to blow their brains out.

We're gonna give the Republicans the whuppin' they've got comin' in 2008.

30. No harm, no foul. I'm with you all the way. The GOP pack is a frightening
bunch of yahoos, creeps, crooks, and otherwise unsavory beast-demon-dullard hybrids.

They should really keep a tighter quality control program in place in those Republican laboratories...

Maybe something Ralph Nader could work on... give ol' Ralph something to do. An idel mind is the devil's playground.

19. There you are, Blue_In_AK. Howdy!
The Republicans are in a bit of a mess right now -- their nomination race is like a dozen or so raggedy Andys in the spin cycle. A frightening bunch. Not even Republicans like them.

Hope you're doing well and that your state is about to send us a lot more Democrats to the 110th Congress.

23. Yes. Rudy has reason to fear Biden. He has reasons aplenty to fear a Biden
candidacy.

Joe's quicker on his feet, and from all the available evidence, a much more mature human adult than playground bully Rudy Giuliani.

Also, Biden's wife doesn't torture dogs.

31. Ghouliani knows no such thing. The hallmark of someone running for President...
is EGO. And that applies ESPECIALLY to Ghouliani. Each of the leading candidates believes he/she is IT! If they didn't truly believe that, they wouldn't have the right stuff to run for President.

Believe you me, the LAST thing Ghouliani thinks is that someone else is better than he is.
