8. I will support any of the current contenders who becomes
the nominee. I will not be happy if it's a couple of them, but it'll just be more "lesser of two evils," something I've faced all my life.

It's that important to get our government out of GOP hands. Once that is done, we can start weeding out the wrong way Democrats.

35. You're very welcome
Personally, I can't understand how so many people vote no on these polls. Notice that the "no" voters never let you know who they are either, which makes me think they might just be Republican moles who have infiltrated the forum. I could see one or two "no" voters who are Democrats, but not as many as what we see on our polls.

Edited on Tue Nov-13-07 05:20 PM by antiimperialist
meanwhile, 20% of DU'ers are committed to helping Republicans win by not voting for John Edwards if he is nominated as candidate for president. That 20% should be 3% or less right now.

Sad. I hope a big chunk of those 20% are trolls. There is no reason not to vote for Hil, Edwards, Obama, Richardson, etc. in order to at least block the ascention to the presidency of another Republican. Don't you agree that any Republican would be 200 times worse than Edwards?

44. That's about where I am.
At least, today.
I flip back and forth between holding my nose and saying 'fuck the DLC and the Hillary they rode in on'. And when it comes down to it, if it comes down to it, how I'm feeling on election day will determine if I can bear to vote for Hillary, if she's the nominee.

Any of the other candidates I could vote for without holding my breath, and Edwards is my strong 2nd choice.

But Hill? Just have to wait and see.

Because as much I despise Clinton, she'll certainly be more progressive than Judy or Mitt. Because if enough people do what you do, it will mean a President Romney or Ghouliani. I hope you are comfortable with that.

54. Many people here say if you vote for a candidate you don't really like
you're a "Good German" marching in lockstep, following along like lemmings, and putting party above country. They say they will no longer compromise and vote for a candidate just to vote against the GOP, and need for the candidate to give them reasons to vote for them.

I'm just sayin', that's what I've seen around here.

party loyalty polls (which essentially is what they are) that vote for the most outrageous option or they vote "no" just to watch people piss and moan and whine!! these polls are NOT scientic and tell you NOTHING. they are just flamebait, IMHO.

so some people will be playing around and voting no, just to see whose buttons they can push. Put up a poll about any Dem candidate, and you'll get a bunch of "no" votes. Doesn't mean anything.

58. There's something deeply wrong with 16% of DU.
Anyone who doesn't support the dem nominee either doesn't care about 8 more years of republican clusterfuck, or is too ignorant to know what they're doing.

The "Good german" argument is bullshit. We have a field of 8 decent candidates. Some I support more than others, but I support every one of them tenfold more than any republican. It's not as if we have Zell Miller running for our nomination. Yes, voting for anything with a (D) behind it's name is perhaps unwise sometimes in other elections, but this is not one of those elections.

If Edwards is the nominee, so be it.

I'll just have to pray that his lack of funds (due to his acceptance of public financing strategy) between End of February (which will be about when the nominee is known) and August doesn't make my November vote a moot point......as that would be really too painful to sit by and watch.
