Mika Brzenzinski just interviewed Michelle Obama on "Morning Joe."
Michelle Obama said the point is not winning, it's changing the country, and that you "tell people the truth" and "connect here and now." The American people are "looking for judgment, heart." On Barack Obama, "He's who we need right now."

Michelle also spoke about the reluctance of some blacks to support Obama, fearing that he cannot win. Michelle said they had heard this before--in every campaign he had run, and that blacks would come around.

Surely, MSNBC will have a video up of the interview sometime today. It's worth a listen. Michelle Obama is very impressive in this interview--and is, in a word, real.

Mika just said she would be interviewing Michelle Obama in the next hour about her life as a wife and mother.

3. More Michelle, please

It was a great interview. Her comments on the defeatism of many blacks and its relation to the legacy of race were not the typical stuff of MSM TV, to say the least.

Looking forward to the next segment.

6. I saw the interview too, we need to see more of her
After watching that interview I would vote for her as President, what an impressive woman. I will definitely be giving Barack a closer look. I had dismissed him thinking that he was just too inexperienced and that a black person just could not win but after watching that interview she certainly changed my mind.

what a concept to not want to win at any cost ...
thanks Michelle and most of all, thanks Obama - keep saying what we NEED TO HEAR

8. I hope someone will have a full video of all the segments
It's too bad they chopped it up the way they did. What she had to say was very, very impressive and shouldn't be missed. She's truly a remarkable woman and shares that 'so real' thing with her husband. There's been a lot of trash talk on DU about Obama, which is fine, but too much of it has been a characiture of the the whole person. It's a shame more people haven't taken the time to really research the man, which I've done since I first heard him speak in 2004. Both Barack and Michelle are truly very impressive people and more authentic than most in politics.

I'd say John Edwards and Barack Obama are very fortunate men to have such remarkable wives. I'd also say their wives are equally fortunate.

9. I agree with the first part of your conclusion
"I'd say John Edwards and Barack Obama are very fortunate men to have such remarkable wives."

Except that it is fairer to say they are remarkable people, not just remarkable wives.

But to be honest I'm not so sure about this next part:

"I'd also say their wives are equally fortunate."

It cannot be easy for either Elizabeth or Michelle.

10. The msm is poisoning us all; Barack Obama, Dennis Kucinich, John
Edwards, none of these people can win? How 'bout Biden or Dodd? I wish people could and would vote with their heart and head, instead of what polls and 'news' tell you. And BTW, I'm undecided. :silly:

I saw part of Michelle Obama's interview this a.m., and she was great! She said some blacks fear he cannot win, but she also said part of the problem is that some black people don't think white people will vote for him. And that's a true fact.

I don't know about a lot of people here, but I'd vote for him, Kucinich, Edwards, Dodd or Biden, all for entirely different reasons. The color factor doesn't matter to me, but I know it does for some.

11. Michelle is as fearless as Barack.
I believe America requires the kind of healing Obama promises to deliver.
