Pelosi finally takes a stand
against the US Coast Guard??? :wtf:

Assuming we retain the House in 2009, any chance we can get a different Speaker?

5. Have you been following her leadership closely? She's NEVER taken a stand on anything?
What's the story here?

You're unhappy with Democratic leadership, and want it replaced....and yet you don't do anything more than a drive-by hit on them.

:wtf:

7. yeah her house in SF probably is quickly losing value
so now she worries.

That oil spill is quite the mess and it will take the Bay Area oceans "decades" to recover from the extreme toxicity of that ugly spill (Amy Goodman was interviewing someone about this whole thing and the oceans in and around San Francisco are now a toxic stew and will continue to be that way because the "oil spill" was in fact bunker oil). Only time will change this reality. Who the hell would care to live in a toxic place like this? It is a real estate agent's worst nightmare.

The effect on the economy of the Bay Area will be impacted heavily but don't tell anyone *yet*. This oil spill of toxic bunker oil is far worse than the 1906 and the Loma Prieta earthquakes combined FYI.

So, now Nancy gives a phuck. :puke:

8. the USCG was intolerably late in informing
city officials of the magnitude of the latest oil spill. They admitted as much.

10. Just found this:
On Monday, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., and several members of the Bay Area's congressional delegation joined Coast Guard Commandant Adm. Thad Allen and Rear Adm. Craig Bone along the bay.
Pelosi questioned Bone about the Coast Guard response, specifically the time lapse in releasing the full extent of the spill to the public. Agency officials learned the true extent of the spill several hours before local officials and the public were notified.
"We have very, very serious concerns about how this transpired and the timing," Pelosi said. "There are many questions that have been raised."
