Laura Ingraham: War In Iraq Is Going Well

Huffington Post | November 12, 2007 12:10 PM

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2007/11/12/laura-ingraham-war-in-ir_n_72222.html

Laura Ingraham is guest-hosting on "The View" today, and when talk turned to Iraq, she had some interesting things to say about the success of the American effort. She claimed that "we have...really good news coming out of Baghdad" but "The View" co-hosts and the media more generally prefer to focus on the narrative of the US as a loser. And when challenged, by Barbara, Laura reverted to the age-old conservative tactic of questioning Barbara's patriotism, asking, "Do you want to win in Iraq?"

3. wanting to win and winning are 2 different things
why are conservatives such children? Just because you want or don't want something doesn't mean it's necessarily going to happen

7. There is no "winning" in Iraq. There's no enemy to "win" against. Just citizens
to crush under our heel.

8. good point.
And it got lost on me as I grappled with the bizarre magical thinking of conservatives. They must really fear liberals if they think we can make things happen or not happen just by wanting them.

5. Did Ingraham have any examples of this so-called "good news"
did anyone ask here what good things are happening?

6. We bribed the various "insurgent groups" to stop killing our soldiers, and
the ethnic cleansing of neighborhoods is nearly complete. That's the "good news". It's all an artificial situation. As long as we keep up the bribery and keep the tribes apart and keep gunning down anyone who gets snitched on, the "good news" will keep going, thanks to the U.S. taxpayer.
