Edwards' Endorsement Is Sweet

DES MOINES, Iowa -- John Edwards' latest endorsement was sweet.

Caucus4Priorities, a group headed by Ben Cohen, co-founder of Ben & Jerry's ice cream, backed the Democratic presidential candidate on Friday. The group, dedicated to cutting wasteful Pentagon spending, says it has 10,000 Iowa members who promise to vote for Edwards in the Jan. 3 caucuses.

Democratic Presidential hopeful, former North Carolina Sen. John Edwards gestures while speaking to supporters after getting an endorsement from the group Caucus for Priorities, Friday, Nov. 9, 2007, in Des Moines, Iowa.

Cohen, chairman of the Iowa organization and founder of the national Priorities Action Fund, joined Edwards at a news conference to announce his endorsement.

He said the next president needs to cast off "obsolete weapons from a bygone era that do nothing to protect us from today's threats."

1. Cool..however, I would have
thought Ben & Jerry were more Kucinich kinda guys.

Ben Cohen is dedicated activist who will be an asset in Edwards' corner!

23. I am a "kucinich" kinda guy, as you say, but I am voting for Edwards. He can really
win in the general election, and although he is not as great a man as Dennis, he would be a much much much better president than Hillary. In this case, I think second best is really a great choice.

25. I am the same way
Hillary is a DINO, and I want more bang for my buck, I like Edwards but am more of a Kucinich guy. But in all reality I think Kucinich has a better chance of getting into higher office as a VP than as prez

3. I'm liking the sound of that more and more.
I'm definitely voting for Dennis in Primary, but if he doesn't win nomination, an Edwards/Kucinich ticket would
suit me just fine.

20. Edwards/Kucinich?? lol
I like DK and all but the chances of him getting on the ticket are nil. Realistically the guy has zero chance of getting elected president and he is doing a GREAT job in the House right now.

9. One of their criteria was that the person had to have a real chance of winning.

the alter of electability if that means voting a Corporate enabling triangulating "Centrist" who will bow do the corporate masters AGAIN.

WE determine who is electable. It is up to the VOTERS unless we are willing to allow the corporate election thief to go unopposed again.

13. I think I read that they have 10,000 who will caucus, and they don't want to use their efforts to
make a statement about a politician that helps him or her go from 4% to 8% of the votes. They want to use those 10,000 voters to make sure that a candidate who cares about working people can beat a candidate who doesn't.

It is the mobile noise machine who keep singing the praises of "Electability".
