People like Wellstone, Byrd, Waxman, Kucinich, and (very) few other brave souls who have stood up to this administration from day one should be our role models. Instead, I see that we are once again rewarding cowardice in the face of a right wing onslaught, arguing that how our leaders responded while under extreme pressure these last 3 years should not count. I'm old enough to remember how disappointed I was in the Blue Dog Dems who conspired with Reagan in the early 80s, and I have felt the same betrayal these last 3.

But I guess I should give up the ghost and realize that I am just being a spoiled selfish brat for expecting the Democratic party officials to actually stand up for Democratic party values and actually fight the repubs. How dare I!

are in their heart a democrat, but have abandoned voting. It is up to us to elect Dems to the Congress. We have to accept our role in this.

Especially all the ones who backed off and let Bush do what he wanted. They shook in their boots and supported him, and now are trying to backtrack. Some are honest, some aren't. There is no way you cannot say the Democrats did not in some way contribute to a lot of the failures we've had over the past few years.
