Why neutral forums rarely exist
Anyone here belong to an open political forum? You known the ones where "all opinions" are posted?

Well guess what: They don't exist. None I know of. The righties will eventually control these forums by becoming moderators and squeeze out all meaningful dissent. Any excuse will be used to lock a thread.

Truth is like Kryptonite to a republican.

First it'll be "inflammatory content" as the excuse to lock your thread or post. Well shit the truth can be the most ugly inflammatory statement ever made.

"Lefties", liberals or Progressive Democrats will always be at a disadvantage on these "neutral" forums. Reason? We tend not to be concerned with everyone agreeing with us all the time. And we won't care to be appointed moderator because censorship isn't our thing. Supporting free speech is.

I take great pride in being "bounced" off of various neutral forums. Most all I've seen are shams. Filled with moderators who are war sissies, college republicans, or people who make a living by waiting for the dividend check to arrive each month.

In fact I've had my private messages sent to dedicated Democratic sub forums members snooped on by ultra conservative moderators. I've posted the list of the 89 GOP leaders caught and convicted of sexual predator crimes on these dedicated Dem Party sub forums. Forums not designed to even be read by republicans!

It's incredible. And it wouldn't surprise me if some of it wasn't part of a GOP dirty trickster type promotion: Join a neutral forum, pretend to be "reasonable" get promoted to moderator and squelch all dissent not approved by GOP talking points.

One wretched example of that is www.politicalcrossfire.com. This is a huge forum where righties run riot and you can not bring up discussion of larry Craig, david vitter or the host of sexual hypocrites within the GOP without getting a thread locked.

Join that one and expect your private messages to fellow Democrats to be read by republican moderators. You can not discuss all the pedophiles within the GOP leadership EVEN ON THE DEDICATED DEMOCRATIC sub forum without getting the boot.

And that forum (www.politicalcrossfire.com) isn't the only one where the righties take over. They move in, make hostile statements to all truth tellers and then force out the Democrats and war protesters. the existing moderators either cave in or quit.

It's just food for thought. And I'm gonna guess much of this is orchestrated by elements within the GOP.

6. Political crossfire has so many rules that
they'll make you get permission to go to the bathroom. Definitely an example of what NOT to be in a forum.

Seriously. I sent a message to the moderator of the dedicated Dem sub forum. Couple days later a GOP moderator answered my post. He had no shame about reading my private message and couldn't figure why I was pissed.

9. Those aholes on www.politicalcrossfire.com
like screen name "John Galt" (a republican) will read ALL your private messages. I've tried to mention this to Dem moderator beach Bum Bob (a nice guy) but the main forum banned me in the meantime.

Wouldn't allow my listing of the 44 convicted child molesters within the former GOP leadership.

So www.politicalcrossfire.com sucks.

8. They can exist
Try www.politicsforum.org . OK, they ban neonazis; but people on the far right of the Republican party, and hardline communists, post there, and everyone in between.

The moderators are a mixture; some of a particular political viewpoint (eg for the subforums dedicated to specific ideologies), but they're capable of behaving properly when moderating.

It's an international forum - which probably helps. There are more US members than from anywhere else, but they're probably a plurality rather than a majority. Another thing is that personal insults aren't tolerated - they are the quickest way to get yourself banned there. It's obvious that you have to attack the post, not the person, there.
