Any time someone says they'd be interested in seeing this, they are told that they are being "undemocratic" or "dismissive." So, Kucinich and Sharpton supporters - how can we have an Kerry-Edwards debate without being either?

1. Edwards is just asking for MORE debates. People who don't want more
Edited on Fri Feb-20-04 10:17 AM by AP
debates are pretending that this is abot Kucinich and Shaprton.

Here's what Edwards said:

EDWARDS URGES MORE DEBATES
(02/19/04) Sen. John Edwards called for more debates with his Democratic rival Sen. John Kerry during an appearance in New York on Thursday morning designed to highlight his views on trade.

"We should debate wherever and whenever," Edwards, a North Carolina Democrat, told a crowd of 1,000 at Columbia University. "I want to be absolutely clear. I will go to New York. I will go to California. I'll go anywhere in America we need to go to debate these issues."

As of now, there is only one presidential debate scheduled before March 2, when 10 states, including New York and California, hold nominating contests. That debate is slated for Feb. 26 in Los Angeles and sponsored by CNN and The Los Angeles Times.

2. What about the non-Kerry supporters
Not everyone is part of this game of pretending you claim exists. Several posters in other threads, who have no love for Kerry or Edwards, are upset when others discuss Kerry-Edwards debates. They are the people I am addressing.

3. Simple
Have a one hour debate, one-on-one, with each of the 4 pairs.

That's the only way I'll support any type of one-on-one debate AT THIS POINT.

9. Yeah
Sorry.... got caught up in my own pedantic corrections. That's a good thought, the only issue would be 6 hours of network time - not easy to acquire.

6. How
can debates exclude LaRouche or, in the past, Nader? When it comes to "allowing," it's up to the debate sponsors. But the effort by some dems to have a Kerry/Edwards debate is just another in a long string of examples of a willingness to sap meaning from supposed principles in the name of political expediency.

7. Two ways
One, LaRouche is a convicted Felon, and I don't think having a felon is in the best interests of the Democratic party. 2nd, Nader isn't a Democrat.

All others should have the same shot.
