Any Dean supporters willing to do some strategic horse trading?
Edited on Fri Feb-20-04 09:25 AM by Cuban_Liberal
I live in Illinois, and our primary is two-part: preference (beauty contest) and delegate-selection (the REAL primary). We vote for 7 delegates in each Congressional district, and Sen. Edwards is only fielding four in my district. That means I have 3 votes that I can cast for Dean delegates--- something I've fairly well made up my mind to do.

Are there any DU-ers out there who would be willing to do something similar for Sen. Edwards?

:)

1. I've already cast my vote in Virginia
but I just wanted to say you would be a hell of a lot of fun to watch at a political convention. :)

7. Thanks for that math lesson, but you're misinformed

You don't get to cast multiple votes in the Illinois primary. You vote once, for your presidential preference, and delegates are apportioned according to the percentage of votes each presidential candidate gets.

You can bone up here: http://www.ildems.org/delegateplan2004.doc

8. Wrong.
I attended the ballot demonstration yesterday at the county clerk's office, where they were demonstrating the new optical-scan equipment. The ballot itself is clearly marked 'vote for 7', and then lists each candidate's delegates. The Illinois Democratic party doesn't write election laws in IL--- the legislature does.
