Kerry's Vietnam testimony on Democracy Now! this morning...
KPFA will run it at 9 am EST (www.kpfa.org). KPFA will run it again at noon EST.

I'm listening to it on the live feed on www.democracynow.org (it will be archived there later this afternoon).

I like the Kerry I hear in this testimony...I hope he's still part of the Kerry running for president.

3. That's what is so disappointing for me as I listen to this...

:evilfrown:

PS: I love Cornel West...I've been looking more seriously into the Democratic Socialists of America and I was happy to see that he's an honorary chair of the DSA.

4. His testimony is eloquent and powerful
But you definitely hit the nail on the head here:

I like the Kerry I hear in this testimony...I hope he's still part of the Kerry running for president.

(sigh)
So do I, deutsey. So do I.

5. Yes he is.
You have to get inside the apparatus to effect change.

6. I just hope it's not the apparatus that's effecting the change, though.

8. Well, you know what they say about dancing with the devil...
You don't change the devil -- the devil changes you.

7. I guess you missed the follow-up on Democracy Now...
... with Brian Wilson, then.

I am hoping that Kerry can rediscover this person he used to be, because that person has been sorely missing over the past few years.

9. The vet who hates Kerry
yeah, thanks to certain posters here I've read his open letter to Kerry a zillion times.
but Kerry has never relented on veteran's issues.

10. Apparently you know nothing about Brian Wilson
Brian Wilson is a Vietnam veteran who has dedicated his life to working against the ravages and horrors of war. He is a man who lost both of his legs by physically trying to stop a train that was carrying armaments bound for Central America, to fuel the violence in El Salvador and Nicaragua.

You might want to go to this webpage to read a bit about Brian Wilson before you flippantly dismiss him as just a "veteran who has it out for John Kerry".
