When Joe Biden talks you end up knowing more than you knew before.
He's considered gaffe-prone because actually SAYS things.

Sometimes when he talks you learn something substantial you didn't know.

Other times what you learn is just what Biden thinks about something, but even that's better than the alternative.

Either way, he would be a president we can listen to without barfing!

Biden2008: At least you won't be reaching for the remote.

3. Sometimes I learn more than I want to know! He's addressing SO many
important issues, and when I learn of something I wasn't aware of, I think - oh god, THAT TOO?

I honestly was just thinking a few moments ago that if I were in their shoes (the candidates) and knew what they did, I'd just roll up in a ball and hide under the covers at the enormity of the situation.

What I find encouraging when I listen to Joe, though, is that he's obviously aware of the problems and more importantly, has given them careful consideration and thought as to how best address them.

Biden = No Barfing - I like it!

5. I think "at least you won't be reaching for the remote" has possibilities.
After all, most people view presidential elections as programming decisions... who do I want to watch for the next four years? Am I tired of this show yet?

I thought Biden's answer this week on Iran's nuclear program was the finest answer I've ever heard in a debate.

9. The Iran response was eye opening and educational. It explained the situation
accurately and put it into perspective. Brought an awareness as to the interconnectedness of the ME countries.

15. "the finest answer I've ever heard in a debate"
I'll give you "finest substantive answer" or "finest informative answer."

"Finest answer" still has to be Lloyd Bentsen to Dan Quayle: "...and, Senator, you're no Jack Kennedy."

16. I'll grant you that, though Biden's Guliani line was one the short-list of
debate snark moments that Bentsen's jibe heads.

14. I often learn a lot when I listen to Biden
and he presents complex issues in a way the average person can understand. I also can say I never "barf" when I listen to him.

18. I could definitely support him..
I'm having such a hard time listening to you know who. Had to turn off the debate this week and DREAD having 4 or 8 years of that voice. I can't figure out how such a pro hasn't learned to use her voice better.

19. That's perhaps what I love most about Biden
He is always willing ot educate people so that they may see his point. He also trusts the American people to know the facts and be practical, rather than tell you what you want to hear.

23. You must have missed his line about George Washington
Edited on Fri Nov-02-07 11:26 AM by dansolo

'For his part, Biden continued to press Kaddafi on Democratic reform, albeit in a folksy, non-threatening manner. "If this is a democracy," he asked his host, "can the people get rid of you?" Kaddafi said "No," adding that he had a special claim to his position. "I started the revolution." Biden pointed out that George Washington had started the American Revolution, but that he was "kicked out" after eight years in office'

How can Biden not know that Washington was not "kicked out"? He voluntarily stepped down. Washington was immensely popular, and would have been easily re-elected if he chose to run. Politicians who rewrite history make me extremely nervous.
