Biden's bill to grant nationwide supeona power to 9/11 victims heads to the President's desk.
Like see if the asshole in chief vetoes this too.

October 30, 2007 -- Washington, DC – Today, the House of Representatives passed U.S. Senator Joseph R. Biden, Jr.’s (D-DE) Procedural Fairness for September 11th Victims Act (H.R. 3921, S. 2106). Earlier this month, the Senate unanimously passed Sen. Biden’s legislation, which ensures that those 9/11 victims and their families who opt out of receiving compensation through the 9/11 Victims Compensation Fund and bring civil suits instead, have access to all the information relevant to the case. The bill now heads to the White House for the President to sign into law.

Shortly after the 9/11 attacks, Congress mandated that victims and their families who opt out of the 9/11 Victims Compensation, and seek legal redress instead, can only do so in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York. Under the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure, that means parties can only subpoena testimony and documents within 100 miles of that District. As such, many 9/11 victims and their families are legally barred from securing much-needed documents and testimony for their cases. Sen. Biden’s legislation fixes that, giving nation-wide subpoena power to all parties involved – victims, their families and the defendants – when litigating 9/11 claims.

:applause:

5. I am firmly in Biden's court!
The more I hear him the more I like him. And I think this is key: "...the Senate unanimously passed Sen. Biden’s legislation..." I think Biden is the one democratic contender that can really get both sides to work together. Certainly not unanimously in most cases, but he has the respect of many of the repbulicans. If he is our candidate, I suspect there will be many republicans who will vote for him over any of the their candidates.

He shows real leadership qualities.

7. It's almost spooky - in addition to the biggies, he's addressing so many
important issues that seem to have fallen through the cracks. I certainly wasn't aware of the lawsuit restrictions imposed on the victims and their families.

I just feel he has such a deep commitment to do What's Right. i thought I couldn't be any more impressed, but he's continuously surprising me.

I sure like the feeling that he's got our collective back.

10. One thing that's clear about Biden: he freaking HATES Bush & Co
No way a President Biden lets these criminals skate. Any candidate who doesn't clearly intend to pursue Bush's crimes will never get my vote.

13. That's indeed great news
Whatever your stand on 9/11 is
one thing is for sure
that famiies of the victims should have access to all info.

One thing is sure as well:
This is going to be vetoed by Bush 100%.....

15. It would be great if Sibel Edmonds' evidence relating to 9/11....

were part of this. All Americans, and most especially the families of 9-11 victims, need to be aware of the criminality surrounding this government.
