. . .greatly exaggerated.

I'm encouraged by Barack's performance last night, but I feel Edwards edged him out.

More importantly I can't believe how DU changed overnight and we have this knee jerk "ding dong the with is dead mentality" towards Hillary. (For the record, she is no where near being a witch and if Barack doesn't secure the nomination I would be very glad to support her or John Edwards).

I hate to see these manic depressive knee jerky mood swings. Barack is my guy but I can't get down with today's piling on Hillary.

1. oh wow
I guess I missed the day when DU was on Hillary's side. It's always felt like a "ding dong the witch is dead" mentality here. I think what you're seeing today -- post-debate -- is a great deal of wishful thinking from those who have a favorite other than Hillary.

2. Well don't count me in that crowd. . .
. . .I'm not a fan of Hillary's campaigning style, but I'm still a Hillary fan.

10. cool
I don't understand the desire we often find here to make everyone else accept what we want! If I like Hillary and others don't, that's fine with me. Doesn't make me right and them wrong. It just means we have a different opinion. No need to use that as a springboard for nastiness, name-calling and all that other stuff.

It's nice that someone who chooses an Obama avatar is willing to say that, although not a fan of her campaign style, they're still a fan of Hillary. That's how it SHOULD be, in my opinion. We should all just let everyone choose who they want to choose and not beat others over the head with it.

5. Its just not trolls, in many cases its long time DUers
This thread is not a defense of Hillary as much as its a criticism of the knee jerk mentality at UD, the same mentality that labels Obama a homophobe.

4. Damn.....
And I was so waiting for next week when polls came out showing little or no movement

But good advice, how many times has a candidate been proclaimed dead here on DU for a single miscue or a vote that DU didn't like or a single poll showing dropping support?

6. If Obama had stumbled as badly as Hillary
you'd sure see her supporters burying him alive. Sometimes I think Obama's biggest problem is that his supporters are too naive about politics to win. You do have to point out the policy weaknesses of the front runner to move the front runner out of the way. That's very different than if people were talking about Hillary's weird eyebrows or shreiking voice.

7. Not to mention that the majority of those who will vote aren't watching the debates
or listening to the pundits yet. They'll wait for the television ad smear campaigns to decide.

8. I agree with you
Except I thought Obama's performance after the first quarter or so was wonderful. But I also thought the rest of them were really good, too. And Hillary, for what she faced, stood up really well; not perfect at only two points in the debate to my eye. I would have been a complete mess.

12. Barack has already laid the groundwork for his nomination. Stay steadfast and followup.
We understand the risks that are coming. No one is getting ahead of themselves here. This is a long race and work still has to be done. His strategy is working in an excellent manner. That's what grass roots campaigning is all about. Debates are important and provides a snapshot to America as a whole but connecting with the American public (boots on the ground) on the ground is the key. He has done a great job with that and he will continue to do so.

I am well aware of what's coming next.

14. I can't disagree with you. . .
. . .obviously the actions of supporters of other candidates get my attention more, but I'm sure there are more than a few on the Obama team who don't help our cause.

17. Excellent review of wha hoppened....The Hill is close to bedrock, very diff to move..
Re Trolls, freepers, and sleeper cells....no doubt DU has many in its ranks....many have sim messages re the denigration of Hilliary/ Nancy/ Reid/ The Dem Party/ etc. Its a National Trend ??? Seems like it,,, but when viewed as a Pub Ploy...it becomes plausible...

Somewhere in the soup...are the misfits....they wanna make trouble for the sake of it....In our society...bullies do this..they will make trouble between 2 other parties and stand back to watch...

Come, we go vote Blue....

18. Yeah, it's pretty silly.
She might lose a couple of points in a poll or two, but I can't see the debate hurting very much.It wasn't her best, but I don't think it was so bad that anyone will really change their mind on her one way or the other.

But don't pick on manic depressives. :spank:
