Edited on Thu Feb-19-04 10:40 PM by BullGooseLoony
Who would you have voted for if Dean had been the nominee?

5. That Was Me... I Voted For Bush
Just to fuck with the poll. Hey... don't take MY VOTE FOR GRANTED. Dean has to EARN MY VOTE! I'm sending a message to Dean that he's too liberal. The only way he can understand that is if I vote for Bush. I'm not an idiot, so stop saying that.

6. Too liberal? He's a helluva lot less
liberal than Kerry. He's anti-gun-control, pro-death-penalty (which I actually STRONGLY disagree with him on), and he's obsessed with balancing the budget.

12. Certainly, Mr. Loony
My vote would be cast for Gov. Dean were he the nominee of the Party, and my energetic support would be given as well.

My expectation would be for defeat, but that would not deter me in the slightest.

14. Other than Arwalden, who else voted for Bush?
I mean...not even third party? Geez....that's pretty rough. Not even a DEAN supporter would do something THAT messed up.

15. Alright...seems like we all have no problem with voting for Dean.
Obviously, the Bush votes weren't cast by Homo sapiens (except for Arwalden's obligatory dissenting vote) and thus don't count.

Since we all can agree to vote for Dean, why didn't we nominate him?

It would have solved a whole lot of problems.

(As of now there are 45 votes for Dean, 4 for Bush, and one for a third party.)

19. Different Catagories, Mr. Loony
Willingness to vote for Gov. Dean if he were the Party's nominee is not the same as conviction he is the best nominee the Party could put forward in the general election, nor is it the same as agreement with all positions taken by Gov. Dean during his campaign.

21. Moreover, Democratic voters in eighteen states

had the opportunity to vote for Dean, but relatively few chose to do so.

My preferred candidate, Dennis Kucinich, has fared even worse in vote-getting.

I don't think less of Dennis, but I'm not going to criticize the voters who've chosen other candidates, either. Not everyone can win in an election.

The proper strategy is: Vote your choice in the primary, the party's choice in November.

22. My Sentiments Precisely, Ma'am
"Vote your own choice in the primary, and the party's choice in November."

And in the primary competion, make no criticisms of another Democratic candidate that would look swell in a hit piece by the enemy come the fall, on the off chance it is not your own choice that prevails....
