Preview of tonight’s Presidential debate at Drexel Univ. on Philly.com: zzzz…wake us later….zzzz

Philly.com is the Web site of the Philadelphia Inquirer and Philadelphia Daily News, the two major local newspapers. One would think that the first Presidential debate in town for…when was the last one?…would be notable, particularly since one of the seven participants (Mike Gravel was excluded) is very likely to move the family pets into the White House.

One would think.

The debate is not even mentioned on the Web site of the two major newspapers in one of the largest cities in the country.

To be fair, I haven’t seen the print version of either paper yet. Still…

This is from Drexel University’s press release:

“Drexel University will host a Democratic presidential candidates debate Oct. 30, University President Constantine Papadakis announced. It will be the first presidential candidates debate to be held in Pennsylvania during this cycle and the fourth Democratic Presidential Candidates Debate “sanctioned” by the Democratic National Committee.

The debate will be held in the Main Building Auditorium (32nd and Chestnut Streets) from 9 to 11 p.m. Brian Williams, anchor and managing editor of “NBC Nightly News” will be the moderator. “NBC Nightly News” and MSNBC’s “Hardball with Chris Matthews” are expected to be broadcast live from Drexel’s campus.

The debate will be broadcast live on MSNBC and streamed on MSNBC.com, NBC News 2 Go and Drexel’s Web site, www.drexel.edu. (Link: http://www.drexel.edu/news/headlines/drexel-university-to-host-democratic-presidential-candidates-debate.aspx )

Wonder if the crickets will still be chirping tomorrow morning.
