Poll question: Are Obama supporters using the McClurkin debacle to blame Clinton supporters?
Edited on Mon Oct-29-07 09:48 PM by Lirwin2
To blame Clinton supporters for "orchestrating" and "creating controversy"? Clinton is, after all, the root of all evil. :eyes:

10. Oops
A quick survey of most McClurkin threads, however, will show you the "It's Clinton's fault" people crying.

15. Yep, it ALWAYS has to be an issue of the horserace
and never an issue of basic human rights. Well said JB.

5. Yes, some have been trying to deflect the damage...
by pointing at Clinton and Edwards. The attempts have been pathetic and lame and have been received accordingly.

You should have seen some of the stuff posted about Clinton a few months ago. You know all the posts about McClurkin? This is what it was like back when Clinton started laughing at the stupid questions she was being asked (Obama supporters on DU called it the "Clinton cackle), only this is a legitimate topic, her laugh is not.

8. Total distraction.
And I've been intrigued by how some DUers can discredit the DU LGBT community by assuming they are Hillary supporters, while not addressing the bigotry staring them straight in the face.

12. When a politician screws up, the best thing to do is to admit error, make amends, and move forward
Don't deny, like Bill Clinton did, or be cute with the facts, like Obama did.

20. And Keith Olbermann covered the controversy on his show tonight
and he mentioned that McCurdle was the emcee and that he spent half an hour defending himself against his LGBT critics.

14. That accusation made me laugh
There would be outrage if any of the candidates had hired a bigot to headline a fundraiser. Especially had it been Hillary.

Earlier in the campaign, Richardson had bombed at the LOGO debate and even said he thought homosexuality was a choice. He got a lot of well-deserved flack on DU over it. However, unlike what's happening with Obama, most of the Richardson supporters saw his performance as a deal breaker and moved on to greener pastures (myself included) and the threads stopped within a day.

16. True, everytime the McClurkin thing starts to die down
Obama supporters create posts about it, giving the issue more attention.

17. Richardson's performance felt undefendable
Not only did he say he thought homosexuality was a choice, he seemed drunk. He put out a press release the next day saying he misunderstood the question (despite the fact he was asked several times in several different phrasings). Maybe he really was drunk?

18. I've been amusing myself imagining that Hillary Clinton hired a white supremacist
to sing country songs at one of her campaign stops in the midwest. I'm sure that there are white supremacist country singers out there somewhere (by the way, I'm a fan of country music, so this isn't meant as a slur against them). Imagine if Hillary Clinton hired one to headline - Master of Ceremonies! - one of her campaign events.

Imagine. The. Fury.

all you are doing by continuing to bring this up is continuing to stick Clinton-supporer-fingerprints on the outrage.

All you do is call polls you disagree with "flamebait." Get over yourself.
