Poll question: The Democratic caucuses in the House and Senate are far more to the right
than they were 20 years ago.

3. That would be 1987
I'm withholding judgment until I have some facts. I don't really remember much about 1987 except being repeatedly screwed by Ronnie Raygun.

But I have been having flashbacks to 1967 lately. The similarity is astounding to me. The peace-nik left and the stay-the-course right turned on each other and Nixon won the White House.

5. The DLC and Blue Dogs are more to the right and they
make up part of the party.

This is the Design of the DLC. This whole Center Thing is a place
for Dems to be on the Right and still call themselves Dems.

Center should mean there are people from the right and left.

GOP has a philosophy and ideology whichguides them. You will
never hear a Republican no matter how moderate, calling himself
a Centrist. They believe in something even if it is wrongheaded and
I could never agree with their beliefs.

Why do Democrats have to distance themselves from the Democratic Party
and call themselves centrists? Because they are more to the Right
than Left. They are not ready to say they are Republicans. They are
Pro=Business Democrats. Business Interests are more important to
them than the people. They have a little more heart than GOP.
Populism is as anathema to Centrist as GOP.

They have bought the GOP view of society. Likely Voters are the
more educated and the better off economically. This is the group
the GOP cater to and go after because they are more Republican.
Half the country does not vote. The DLC and Blue Dogs choose
to compete for these votes. When they win, they have won with
a lot of Republican votes. Their votes in Congress ref;ect the
fact they are apeasing their Gop constituents and not Democrats.
We have a one party system designed by DLC. Al From has openly
stated on C-Span he prefers the Likely Voter Approach.

6. 30 years ago, yes, 20 years ago not really
If anything they're less right wing than they were 20 years ago. Until 1994 much of the leadership was controlled by DINOs largely from the south, who are definitely to the right of people like Claire McCaskill and Jim Webb. Many of them lost their seats or in some cases switched to the Republic Party.

7. Where are the poorest states in the Union?--The South
The South illustrates what I said earlier.

Caste System run by elites and Business.

The GOP is fast running the country into the ditch just as
their Conservatism has kept the South poorest states in Union.
What Conservatives have done to South, they will do to the
nation. DLC and Bluedogs are enablers.
