Donnie McClurkin: We must pull down and destroy homosexuality.
Read Pastor Donnie McClurkin for yourself:

http://www.crossrhythms.co.uk/articles/music/A_Pastors_Heart/9781/p1/

"You can't talk about the redeeming and saving power of Jesus Christ when you're still living in the abominable. I know I may get into trouble with some who may think that I am a little too strong saying that homosexuality is abominable but there's a Bible that I have got to concur with. I've got to agree with it. Not to the slighting of those that are involved but to the pulling down and destroying of the thing that they're involved in. We can't kill the people, the people are too precious to God. Everyone is too important to God and God does not dispose of people!"

"We do it with the drug addict! We do it with the alcoholic! So why can we not do it with those who have sexual differences? Pull them in, embrace them, love them. Give them the truth of God with the love of God and watch people's lives change. I see it happen all the time. I've got people in the church that I'm still working with who are young and old. They'll say, 'Pastor, it's been a whole month, nothing's happened!' And I tell them it's good and to not even worry about counting the days, take one day at a time. Love God, every day fall more in love with God and you'll find these things falling off of you. And that's how we do it, we do it one day at a time and increase our intimacy with Jesus Christ and we see him change our nature, realigning our passions."

4. Catfish, shrimp, clams, oysters as well
Edited on Mon Oct-22-07 09:36 AM by TechBear_Seattle
If it is an animal from the water and does not have both scales and fins, it is an abomination. Oh, and clothes of mixed fibers (cotton-linen and cotton-wool blends) are also abominations.

I mean, if the Bible is the inerrant, literal and eternal Word of God, certainly ALL of the Bible must be obeyed. Right?

(Edited for grammar.)

17. They'll get my Catfish
when they pry the filets from my cold dead hands. The bible belongs to christians and they have been told to pick and choose in the book those passages which justify their hate and ignore those which might make their lives uncomfortable. Evil liberals would never understand.

is an acquired taste. Not too long ago it was referred to as the trash fish spending its time in the bottom waters eating mud. Farm raised catfish is quite a delicacy in the south.

If any of his kids ever talked back to him, or disobeyed him, then he should have stoned them to death. It's God's law.

Donnie McClurkin needs to have a public debate with
a leader of the Satanists Churchs, an atheist leader,
a Buddhist, a Muslim leader, etc, etc.
Let religions debate in their forum and stay out of
politics.

McClurkin needs to remember...Judge not..<----that IS
in the Bible.

8. "Destroy homosexuality"
Homosexuality is just as natural as heterosexuality. That precept is so common sense, so inherently right that I don't understand why some have to feel the need to "destroy" it.

People like this person are sad. Such hate in them.

13. George Bush: "...Saddam Hussein recently sought significant quantities of uranium from Africa
And four Democratic Presidential contenders who were in the Senate at the time voted to authorize him to go to war: Biden, Clinton, Dodd, and Edwards.

4000 dead soldiers, hundreds of thousands of Iraqi civilians, billions of wasted dollars, and a march to war on Iran later you are focusing on the poor choice of a fucking gospel singer by the one person who spoke out against the war (and was 100% right) before it was popular to do so.

A fucking gospel singer.

This will be used as evidence of his 'poor judgement'.

Unbelievable.

Honestly, is this is the worst thing people can find to slam Obama for right now? This is nothing but bullshit blown out of proportion to fuel the bullshit "Obama lacks experience" canard. Barack Obama has spoken (and voted) in favor of gay rights his entire career.

32. The 'gospel community' is monolithically homophobic? Who knew?
Further, what is being blown out of proportion, IMO, is not McClucker (or whatever) and his foul views, it's the condemnation of Obama before all the facts are in. This joker is being turned into Obama's best bud, trusted advisor, and running mate if you believe some of the posts on DU. For all we know, Obama barely knows the guy and wasn't aware of his statements on homosexuality. (OTOH, if he was fully aware and had him perform anyway, then he's got some 'splaining to do.)

43. If Obama didn't know,
he should have. McClurkin's views have been well documented. He's been preaching his anti-gay nonsense for years and the even wrote a book about it in 2001. Lack of knowledge in this case is just not believable.

18. I can't wait until Pastor Donnie rips into the fashion industry!
Edited on Mon Oct-22-07 09:29 AM by TwoSparkles
The Bible specifically says (Deuteronomy 22 verse 11)--"Thou shalt not wear a garment of diverse sorts, as of woolen and linen together".

Pastor Donnie says he has a Bible that he has "to agree with" and he uses this Bible to justify his ill-informed bigotry toward homosexuals.

Sooooooo....I guess if Pastor Donnie wishes to remain intellectually consistent, he will condemn everyone who wears poly-cotton-blend pants and declare that women wearing spandex-cotton blend exercise pants are "abominable." Just like he did with homosexuals.

"Attention Kmart shoppers! This is a raid! Step away from the linen-wool blend
walking shorts and no one gets hurt!"

20. In case it isn't obvious,
this man is advocating the killing of non-heteros. He won't admit it, but how else would one "destroy" something as nebulous as sexual identity? It is not something one can gird one's loins (wonder why they'd do that, anyway) and go do battle with.

The burning of nine or ten churches in the south by wingnut college age monsters and the subsequent attempt to implicate homosexuals--saw it myself on "Hardball" via Chris Matthews--was reprehensible, yet there was little followup.

Any of those churches could well have had people in them, turning the crime of arson into the crime of murder, and all that that implies.

I am uncomfortable enough with the religious leaders advocating the murder of people they disagree with inside small groups, but these conscienceless morons have grown in influence to an alarming degree. There should be some thought toward prosecuting these people. They have no place in a democracy.

Freedom of speech does not extend to advocating violence against any member of the human community.

Is there hope for curing, oh, say, someone who's approved of the murder of 600,000 - 700,000 innocent Iraqi babies, momas, daddys, grampas, gramas, sisters, brothers, uncles, aunts, friends, neighbors, etc.?
How bout curing someone of the habit of laughing at the tragedies and death of human beings?
How bout someone who exchanges death for dollars as emotionless as changing his socks?

What a total a-hole.
