John Edwards--savior or snake oil salesman?
Sen.John Edwards has a shiny veneer. Is he the real deal, or not what he appears to be? Tell me if you think he has staying power, or if John Edwards will be "crossing over" to the sidelines.

1. Neither saviour nor snake oil salesman
But I do think he is exploiting the trade issue as a politician should. I disagree with his positions concerning foreign policy no matter how he reframes his initial position statements.

2. Pretty Much My Take on It
We need a more progressive economic agenda now. That's his strength.

3. Eight years of apprenticeship as VP will smooth any rough edges
before he steps up to the top spot.

5. Eight years as VP will be eight years lost when he could have been
fixing the problems America has today -- the ones his campaign speaks to directly and more bluntly than any other candidate.

4. Definitely a saviour.
Speaks directly to the problesm in America today.

He's not the product of a political machine and owes nobody anything. He doesn't need politics to make money. He knows a trade and has fabulous skills.

His only vested interest is in seeing that America is able to produce more people who, like him, can have fulfilling lives and be rewarded thanks to merit, and not for connections or by gaming the system.

Definitely saviour.

6. geez, I really have to take issue with his views on legacies
If it weren't for those, our pResident would not have been able to get his college degrees.

8. He owes all the lawyers that are contributing the max of $2000 to him
He owes the democratic party an explanation as to why we should vote for him when he has voted with the republicans for an average of 80.5% of the time since he has taken office. He owes us an explanation of why a lawyer that has been in the senate for one term has the experience required to run the leader of the free world. He owes me an explanation on why he stated that he "wouldn't" have voted for NAFTA, but voted to okay the trade with China who has lower wages than Mexico. Many plants are leaving Mexico to China for even cheaper labor. Edwards is a fraud...anyone that would use the gimmick of telling the jury that a dead girl is talking through him is a snake oil salesman. Tell me you will trust a trial lawyer that would do that to make a sale to the jury...

9. You say he knows a trade. That could be said of
most all politicians since, they, too are lawyers. I've been around a long time and I have yet to see an altruistic politician. Sad, but true.

7. He better consult the Kucinich play book
Kucinich is the only one with well defined, defendable
positions on every issue. Edwards could still mimic Kucinich -
for the first time he would have solid positions.
Edwards should talk to Kucinich.
