Post A Few Positive Things About The Candidate Not Of Your Choice
1) I am impressed by Obama's idealism and thoughtfullness...I also am impressed by his six pack abs that allude me despite working out four times a week...

2) I like John Edwards' experience as a trial lawyer... They kick ass , often in defense of the little guy...He's also really nice looking...

3) I like Dennis Kucinich...Whatever he says he says with a smile...

4) I like Bill Richardson...He strikes me as a regular guy...He'd be fun to have a beer with...

5) I like Joe Biden... He's good at getting to the nut of an issue and reminds me of "everyman."He has a common sense solution to every problem...

6) I don't really like Mike Gravel...He insults everybody...But it was hilarious when he bragged about stiffing the credit card companies...

7) What I like about Hillary Clinton is her mental toughness...She reminds me of my favorite basketball player, Dwayne Wade...He like she will not allow herself to lose...She will win, by any means necessary...

1. Hillary has good personal hygiene...
Edited on Fri Oct-19-07 02:15 PM by rfranklin
very clean, but not obsessive. I mean, I once knew this guy who had a germ phobia and was always washing his hands and carried around a bottle of Purell and was afraid to shake hands. She's no like that at all.

6. OK, here's mine . . .
1) On CSPAN yesterday, I saw Joe Biden work a room (I don't even know where it was -- Iowa?), recorded about 10 days ago. He was engaging, upbeat, precise, humane, confident, eloquent . . . thoroughly credible and policywise letter-perfect. I've never seen him look and sound so "presidential." I was floored, because I've always considered him something of a bloviator.

2) I have to salute Dodd's defense of the Constitution and his strong stand versus the FISA get-out-of-jail-free card about to be handed to the quisling telcos.

3) I also saw Clinton at the "Apple Barn" thingie about a week ago, and she was solid. Laundry-list stuff, but with convincing sincerity that turned it into more of a "conversation" than a stump speech ("and if you can fake sincerity you've got it made"). Put together with her strong campaign organization and, as mentioned above, mental toughness, I got a whiff of the "inevitability" smell myself. I think I might have been listening to our next president.

Disappointments:

1) Obama: He seems to be thinning out as the campaign goes on. Less substantial, flatter rhetoric, significantly reduced gravitas. Maybe it was a bad day.

2) Edwards: Hints of flop sweat. A bit desperate and tight around the eyes. I think he's beginning to see the prize slip away (forever this time) and it puts him off his game. Maybe he knows the next big issue in his life is how to handle Elizabeth's illness, and that could be putting the chill on as well.

8. Glad to oblige...
Hillary will piss off the right wing something fierce.

Obama will do the same, with particular emphasis on the KKK wing of the Republican Party.

Dennis Kucinich has the right ideas on health care -- and has shown conspicuous courage standing up to the Bush Regime.

Chris Dodd put a hold on the FISA bill.

Joe Biden wants to keep the FCC from easing ownership restrictions.

Bill Richardson would make clean energy a priority.

Mike Gravel thinks the War on Drugs has been a colossal failure and he supports Net Neutrality.

I'll proudly vote for any one of them -- including that Edwards guy...

11. on the sitcom of this election....
Hillary is the boss
Obama wishes he was
Edwards is the too perfect one
Biden and Richardson are the kooky wisecrackers from work.
Gravel and Kucinich are the cranky gay couple from next door.

12. Kucinich was great on Colbert, Gravel was really relevant once in the 1970's,
Dodd is fighting FISA, Biden has joined him, Hillary is smarter and tougher than anyone in the Republican field, Obama is inspirational and Richardson is one of America's foremost diplomats.

I back Edwards but I believe this is the most talented field of Democrats since-at least-1972. I have great respect for them all.
