Kerry records question (freeper battle)
Kerry supporters, help me fend off some rabid freepers. They are calling for Kerry to release his "military records." I'm not sure what this would entail, but I seem to remember some posts here saying that Kerry had released such records. Has he? Can you provide a link?

1. I don't really understand where this is coming from
What are they claiming the military records would show? I mean I havne't seen too many people complaining about Kerry's service; they usually prefer to point to his appearence with Jane Fonda and his involvement in the Anti War Movement.

2. Oh, one stupid example
is their claim that he only served four months of active duty. My understanding is that he served four months of a second tour. But I don't want to get into a back and forth with them. They really don't know what they are looking for, it's just a reply to the call for Bush to release his records -- "turnabout is fair play." So, are Kerry's records online?

5. They claim:
That the purple hearts were not earned
That Kerry was a war criminal
That Kerry was in country for less then 4 months and got out early because of special treatment

3. This is a win-win for freepers
They win if Kerry doesn't "release" (whatever the hell that means) his military records by screaming he's hiding something.

They will also win if he does release them and they can start digging through them and questioning them.

In any event, I believe they could get them any time they wanted by doing a FOI request just as people got Bush's TANG records. Their point is just to put Kerry on the spot by demanding that he release them.

Its all a ploy. Nothing more.

8. Kerry's records were released and reviewed many years ago - a FOIA
REQUEST is easy to file if you want to review them again - then have at it.

9. Sigh
That's not very helpful. The records obtained from Bush by FOIA are on the 'Net. Are Kerry's?
