Bush Leads in Red States, Kerry Ahead in Blue States

1. Don't you remember Iowa?

All the polls were wrong? It's too soon to tell.

I knew they were wrong just by the people I called to get our the vote and go to the caucus.

I just thought it was interesting.

Zogby polled according to the official 2000 results (red states, blue states) and then combined the info of those states to come up with blue state/red state results. Don't know how accurate of a picture you can paint doing that, but the whole article had some interesting info and I wanted to post it here for others to see.

5. I like Kerry's chances in Ohio

I just saw him speak last night, here in Columbus, and the man hit all the notes that Ohioans will care about this year. If he stays on message and can visit Ohio a couple more times, I think the resentment against Bush and a positive message from Kerry could get Ohio back in the Blue.

2. One problem

As pointed out here yesterday, a new Ohio poll shows Bush favorability under 50%. Bush cannot lose one state that he carried in 2000.

3. This analysis is a bit misleading

as some red states became red by literally only a handful of votes and could very easily have been blue states. FL is the best example. WV and NH are others. I think the Dem nominee will be very competitive in several red states. Competitive enough that the nominee can bring those states in as blue in November.

There are other red states that are going to stay red no matter what. Those are the states that skew this so heavily toward Bush.

A state like Mississippi will heavily favor George Bush. A state like Florida or Ohio will not.

I truly hope the Chimp is evicted this fall.

6. Confusing and BS.

A solid majority do NOT feel the Country is going in the "right direction" and the results of this poll run counter to just about everything else I've seen. Not quite sure what to make of it.

8. New poll results on NBC

On this morning's today Show, poll results were discussed that show either Kerry or Edwards handily beating Bush in the popular vote nationally if the election were held now (2/19/04). No state by state results were given, but this must be good for the Democrats. It is now time to build on this. Bush is very vulnerable, especially since he is backpeddling on the jobs claims the White House made only a little over a week ago. Republican Florida Selection Engineer Mark Racicot is busily spinning, but saying that the jobs projections were just a model, and a possible goal sounds to the public like exactly what it is: LYING.

Here in Ohio, which went for Bush by 3 percent in 2000, Bush is vulnerable because of jobs. Daily I hear from people who voted for Bush in 2000 that they will NOT do so this time.
I'd love to see a poll of swing states like Ohio, West Virginia, Wisconsin, Florida...
