I can't wait for the primaries to be OVER.
Except that's when the real hell probably begins.

4. Well, we either rally around the nom or we all move to the lounge
It is up to us as to what nom we pick. Apathy (with no physical/active support) = I'll vote for him/her if he/she is the choice *yawn*

Big disappointment ahead if that is the case.

5. It was a fair amount of work, but I've gotten to...
the point where I just ignore it all. Barring toilet escapades or suddenly surfacing old criminal records, I doubt there's anything we have yet to learn about any of this crew. I know who I'm voting for, and little will change my mind.

I sorta get the impression that there's a lot of "Primary Fatigue" out there, so maybe I coulda just waited a little longer.

6. I don't get to vote in a real primary. We just have those stupid caucuses here
where you have to spend hours and hours messing around with a bunch of other people who have no idea what the rules are either, until you finally carry out a bunch of votes on local party platform issues and then finally vote for other races and then for President -- but if your candidate doesn't get enough votes, tough luck -- no elector for you. And if your candidate DOES get enough votes but no one present has the time or commitment to go to the state meeting for the next level of caucuses -- then tough luck -- you send an elector that was previously committed to another candidate instead of yours (and cross your fingers).

So I'll be watching voters in the other states, just waiting for this to finally be over so we can move on together with someone who is bound to be light years ahead of the troglydites in office right now.

8. I realized something that might make it different for me than for people
in rational states like Illinois.

Because of our insane caucus system, I have become accustomed to feeling pretty impotent during primary season. I'm accustomed to voting in a "beauty contest" primary -- and then MAKING myself like whoever turns out to the chosen by the primary voters in the other states. (I went to a WA state caucus once -- and once was enough for me.)

This time I really am proud of our entire field and I'll have no problem getting fully behind WHOEVER all the rest of you choose to be the nominee. So go at it!

11. It should get a lot better then
Unfortunately, the nomination is still a LONG time off. It'll get a lot worse around here before it gets better (my prediction anyway).
