ARRGGHH! First Clark, now Dean...
I want my party back! I'm sick of the media and insiders telling me who I'm allowed to support! Ok, I wasn't Dean's biggest fan, because I really think foreign policy experience will be important for the next president. We've GOT to fix our international reputation. But Dean's dropping out (and the way his "decline" was orchestrated) just intensified the feeling it's all a game by the insiders to make us feel like we're getting a "choice" when the only choices they'll let us have are the ones the "big boys" can live with - and not just the Democrats, but the Republican's too. They pretend that the "grass roots" matters, but then they ignore us.

So... I spent the last couple of days creating some t-shirts to express my feelings (I have a CafePress shop totally unrelated to politics, so I can make stuff just for myself) I was just going to order a few for myself and some friends, but hubby talked me into making a real "store" of it, so if you want to look at them, they're here. http://www.cafeshops.com/grrebellion (This isn't really a solicitation, I just HAD to do something with my anger, and this was it. I even put something in for Republicans, because my Republican friends (yes, I have some, they're not so bad until you get them in groups) are pissed off too.) So anyway, I just wanted to show them off a bit. I'm rather proud of them... so, just go look, and tell me how cool they are and I'll be happy. :D Er... happier, anyway.

4. Thank you!
:D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

The main thing is, now I can get them for myself, but like hubby said, hey, who knows, somebody else might want 'em, too. Costs nothing to try, and hey, I might make a few dollars. (Probably not though, if my other shop is any indication. Still, doesn't hurt to give it a shot.)

6. I'm bookmarking this
so when I get a few bucks, perhaps I can purchase a Grassroots Rebel shirt. This reflects my sentiments perfectly. And yes something on the media would be great.

p.s. Oh yes and I'm angry also...

11. I'm going to be adding cups and smaller stuff too
I have to redo the images or they'll come out funky-looking. But first I have to finish putting up the "alternate" designs (with/without tag lines) I just got tired of clicking through the "add product" process last night. Plus I've got a bunch of "notable quotes" (including the one in my sig line) that I want to do. Now that I've got my head around the notion, I'm getting all kinds of ideas... AAAHHH! Hubby's created a monster!

2. I'll make ya happy...
I really do think those t-shirts designs are cool -- you did a good job! :)

I'm also pissed at how much the media can tweak entire campaigns to their liking...it's frustrating and I think it's high time for a revolution. Grass roots Rebellion! :D

3. I think I'll do some media shirts too, later...
Edited on Thu Feb-19-04 02:06 AM by bain_sidhe
Haven't figured out a design yet, but I'm thinking along the lines of "media survivor" or something like that ...a "who will the media vote out of the race next?" kind of theme.

And thanks for the pat on the back! I'd forgotten how tedious it is to set up a shop over there, each product, each image, one by one by one by one by... well, you get the idea. But once I finished it, I just HAD to tell somebody. Told hubby, but that wasn't enough.

5. I like your idea
for the Media "survivor" T-shirts. That's not too far from the truth, huh? Be sure to post them whenever you get around to doing those! :)

10. I've never actually seen the show
But I imagine I can get some design ideas by going to the show site. I wouldn't violate anybody's copyright, but I can certainly come up with something that would bring the show to mind, I think.

Yep, I'll let folks know (just try and stop me!) when/if I do it -- but if I don't do it soon, there won't BE any candidates left to "vote out" of the race!

7. regarding Sheep-
love that sig line.
I just posted this about sheep on another thread:

What if-
we elect a candidate to replace Shrub- he wins-- we get him for 4 years, then maybe 4 after that.

...but what if our candidate turns out to be not exactly what we want ? we will then be STUCK
...sad but true--

Say for instance our winner supports NAFTA?
(and keeps exporting all our jobs ?)

What if he continues to beat the war drum?
(& maybe instates the draft?)

What if our guy does NOT REPEAL the PATRIOT ACT ?
(and fatherland security becomes the SS)

How 'bout he still makes no move toward providing basic services in THIS country like HEALTH CARE for EVERY citizen(like all other modern countries do esp in Europe)

Say he gets comfortable with Carlyle and family?

ONCE HE'S IN IT"S TOO LATE
We had better be VERY careful and ASK questions about policies and where each guy stands on issues and make them stick to it and not sway(like their position on war etc.,)

So far this has been a media fiesta and American idol competition.
So far the average voter can't even tell you which candidate stands(or stood) for what--
This is idiotic--they just say well I heard on T.V. (or I read) that Kerry is electable.
Does the average voter have the slightest clue ? Do they have any idea what they are buying?
SHEEP
deserve what they get. We are not supposed to be sheep.
We are suposed to ask QUESTIONS !!!
Very few voters care to examine closely and recognize the significance of their choice.
What a damn shame!

None of this may matter anyway if the FIX is in.

If that happens again this time --those individuals who are serious about maintaining a free America will likely not stand by idley with the SHEEP.
There will be riots in the streets and then military law will follow if Shrub gets in through surpressing our election process!!

12. oooh! American Idol competition
I'm getting an idea....

Seriously though, I'm appalled at the "sheeplike" behavior of the 'Murkin People too... I'm still floored that apparently half of them think bush* is doing a "good job"! Where have they been the last few years???

Oh, right. They've been watching Survivor and American Idol and that bacheleor show...:eyes:

8. Nice threads - Don't worry
Mate

The Democratic primaries are rough, and only the fittest survive-
which is lucky in this case, because America has faced no greater danger than the Bush Family Evil Empire, and Co.
The good news is, John Kerry has the courage, the bravery, the integrity and the quiet dignity to give the American people the alternative they need. All he needs is the faith and efforts of loyal Americans to ensure his election.

Kerry / Kucinich in '04

14. I'm not so much against Kerry
as I am against this process the way it's played out. Actually, I'm not really against Kerry at all - I think he'd be a good president. But I don't think any serious observers can say it's been a fair fight. That's all I want. Look at the "VP" you're supporting in your sig line, Kucinich. The media has done nothing but ridicule him since he started. I may not agree with his ideas, but I'd have a hard time even knowing what his ideas were (as with ANY of the candidates) from the media. It's NOT UP TO THEM to decide if he's a "serious" candidate or not. It's up to US to decide that.

9. Edwards is less of an insider than Clark or Dean
They've been involved in the national power structure establishment for decades, and he's been for a senate term.

There isn't anything wrong with being an insider in my opinion, but Edwards isn't the most entrenched by a longshot

Oh, well. I suppose I'll live. I wonder if I can make the icon into an avatar? Hmmm....
