6. I think Al needs to stay in the private sector.. He's much more effective
than in the White House where he will have to give up some of his ideals for reality. Reality is he won't be able to effectively get the changes that we need. He's much better off in the private sector raising money and awareness and lobbying for change.

9. My hesitation with Al Gore is my hesitation with everyone who becomes
too over the top with global iniciatives.... Carbon taxing is my biggest anti stance. It would hurt poor people. Poor people cannot afford the luxury of a new car, solar panels on their homes, increased tax on their foods, taxing children.... The environmental movement needs a New Deal approach. Provide energy efficient infrastructure that works. Encourage the production of variety of foods, rather than offer so many incentives for corn and soybean. Soybean, in actuality, is cheap and easy to produce, but was never meant to be a major substance in people's diet. It is a buffer crop. After planting your first crop, you use it as a nutrient builder for the soil. If you are trying to get pregnant, stay away from soybean products.

We cannot jump from where we are now to where we need to go until people realize the basis of their own health and nutritional needs. I personally think there is an order in which we need to go to create a green friendly environment. Universal healthcare is a start, but the healthcare needs to include using nutrition, exercise, supplements... Ther grocery store model of today needs to be drastically modified to reduce cheap crap that harms the environment. We need to insist on a 30 hr work week, so that people have time to be with families and enjoy the environment, rather than a couple of hours at the end of the night half dazed in front of the t.v. Subsidy programs need to be set up to encourage home owners to change their homes into eco-friendly dwellings and all new development needs to be encouraged to go green (not doing this would cost more money).

People need to be more educated. People need to understand science. People need to understand that the more you know and are willing to consider, the better this country will be and the wolrd in general. I think some people will use this issue, and sneak in horribly awful legislature that makes it harder for everyone.

In reality, an environmental movement brings you closer to a socialistic model of governing.

10. First off...
the carbon tax is for companies. Not individuals.

Would suggest you visit currentTV.com and search for Gore's videos from 10/14. He addresses those very issues you raised in your post.
