So, I'm wondering when Skinner is going to change the name of this place
from "Democratic Underground" to "Democrat's Burial Ground" - speaking of Hillary, of course. So much vitriol. I doubt they've beat Hillary up this much over in Freeperville. If she wins the nomination, Rush Limbaugh will have to lay off his talking points writers. He's got enough material here to last through two terms and more.

Ah, flame away. You don't know who I'm voting for. I don't know, actually, but you surely aren't helping me make my decision. Or, maybe, you are... After all, maybe I'm one of those "bad" Democrats I read about in a post here the other day. Nobody called me that when I was out marching in the streets, or making phone calls from the Dem headquarters. Nobody called me that when I went canvassing door to door, or sent my checks in for this or that person, or cause. Call me that now, because I may think of voting for a certain candidate, or another, and see what you get out of me - a Democrat. See what you get.

It's funny now, but if she wins the nomination, that car WILL be smashed to bits.

12. Go ahead: tell the Dems in Congress that we are behind them no matter what they do
Tell them they can burn the Bill of Rights and declare that the President is King.

Tell them that no amount of betrayal will drive you away from them...

...and they'll get elected by doing exactly what the pukes want in every single case.

That should be really good for America.

Your country had goddamned BETTER matter more to you than the team you're on!

21. Ditto!
I wish someone would define "bashing". If not agreeing with Hillary on the issues or questioning whether or not she can secure the general election is bashing then, I give up.

NOW is the time to work out our differences before a candidate is elected.

34. Did I say anything like that?
I don't think so. I think about what I do and who I vote for. I just don't like the thought of being called a "Bad Democrat," if I happen to vote for the "wrong" person.

I've been around here for a long time. I usually have a star, but I happen to be broke right now. I spent nine years in the Army and my husband spent 20. My son just got out of the Air Force after 10 years and 3 tours in Afghanistan. He lost his wife to divorce after she went to Iraq and fell in love with a pilot. My grandfather served in WWII and was a union steward for the rest of his life after the war. Don't talk to me about what my country means to me and don't tell me I have to vote a certain way in order to be a "Good Democrat." Other countries do that. Not mine.

And who in the hell called you a bad democrat?...and before you make the wrong decision, try figuring out the best decision for your personal needs. For some the DLC fits their needs. For other's Kucinich is the voice they need... Figure it out for yourself.

Most of the people on Democratic Underground are true Democrats, but there are some who wouldn't be happy with anyone as President. I think some people just reflexively dislike anyone who has a reasonable chance of becoming president.

See http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=389&topic_id=1962056&mesg_id=1962056 - over three quarters gave answers putting them in the leftmost quarter of the graph - well to the left of Dennis Kucinich, for instance.

28. When Democrats bash other democrats is just shows the
fact that they are like the republicans. Do anything, say anything if your candidate isn't ahead. No matter what the OTHER candidate's supporters say, THEY are the ones who bash. You don't see Hillary or Edwards supporters bashing. We are ALL DEMOCRATS and want a Democratic president. Even if the Democratic president is not able to fufill the fanasty of these type of Democrats, our president will work for ALL the people of this country, and not for only the super rich.

31. I have a feeling that if the dems were doing
what they were elected to do then folks wouldn't be bashing them. As it stands, they took impeachment off the table as soon as the elections were finished, since then they've been rolling over with their legs up in the air and showing off their nice fat yellow bellies to Bush... and giving him anything he wants.

People are frustrated. Dems were elected to stop the war. Instead of moving troops out of Iraq, Bush was allowed to escalate. He's been passing repressive and secret bills with the complicity of the dems. He can do no wrong, every fool illegal thing he does gets swept under the carpet with no opposition from the dems. To add insult to injury, dems voted in lockstep with the repukes to censure a Move-On ad of all the hairbrained things. They don't even pretend to be there to do what the PEOPLE want.

People are angry and rightfully so. People are sceptical and for good reason.

You're right and I understand the frustration. I feel it, too. However, I'm used to coming to DU for - for lack of a better word "fellowship" - and to read the news. Lately, it seems to be nothing but hate towards one another and the latest reason Hillary is evil and how much Edwards' hair cuts cost and what a bad man he is for taking public financing. Sure, we should all debate the pros and cons of our candidates, but somebody keeps forgetting to throw in the "pros" part. It's not very pleasurable around here lately and I can't wait until the primaries are over!

42. It seems DU has become a magnet & breeding grounds for every anti-Hillary nut in the USA
Even though all these anti-Hillary naysayers are in the vast minority of mainstream Democrats, it seems that each and every one of the 1 or 2% that comprises their portion of the Party has found their way here. I guess if you hate Hillary Clinton, then this is the place to be.

This group of Hillary haters hasn't completely taken over DU, not yet anyway, but they are loud and vocal...and they have nothing to lose by spreading their innuendo and outright BS about Hillary because losing is the way to go for some of them.

Yes, the way things are going, I agree a name change should be considered.

50. I'm not a "Hillary Hater" a coined op word pushed by someone who
makes people who really question her policies as small-minded, fringe lunatics.

If we want to debate, stop the name calling. I know what I'd like to see for America. I understand its not always easy, especially, when most the population doesn't even vote.... But if we don't start seriously moving in the right direction, I don't think there is going to be an America left. The people running for President now should be calling for impeachment. Without some justice, the person that is selected will enjoy the same executive priveleges. I don't trust King George with these powers... I certainly don't approve of handing them down the line. That's only the beginning. I have a feeling it doesn't matter. They've already crowned their Queen.. Rupert Murdoch has anounced it to the world and the polls are showing favor. I have no doubt that it will be her or Ghoulish...

Anyway... its time to re-take our communities and win bottom up... grass roots and community building.

Its primary season. People get beat up (figuratively). Take it with a grain of salt, do your own research, and form your own opinions on the candidates.

I for one support Edwards, but shall support whomever emerges from the primaries. I will say this though, this primary season has been particularly rough. Hopefully this is a sign of good things to come. (like winning the WH and gaining more in congress)

There is a difference! If people would spend more time bragging and informing us how wonderful their candidate is we could all benefit from that type of debate. Just piling on bashing one candidate isn't what I call a debate.
