Help me form a question for city council...

candidates. There is a public forum thursday night and we can submit questions. Candidates have 60 sec. to respond so I'm thinking a direct yes/no question. Issues I'm thinking about are eminent domain, and the give aways to big business and the corps.

1. I would ask if there is plan in place in case a natural or manmade

disaster unfolds....is the city prepared for evacuation if necessary?

2. Really get nasty, ask them if the Police/Fire are fully funded.

i.e. including their PENSIONS or is it like most cities, Pensions are to be paid whenever the person is on Pension. i.e. NOt to be paid out of TODAY'S TAXES, but the taxes raised when the people are retired (You can also ask about other employees pensions).

Remember if 20 years from now today' Police and Firemen are on Pension, the politicians then will have to raise taxes to pay those pensions AND the pay of the Police and Fireman then. This is the biggest problem is the older cities where I am living, how do you pay pensions AND ongoing wages when the city is in decline.
