As of today, I am officially ABB.
I was a very enthusiastic supporter of Dean.

With him out of the race, I will enthusiastically support Kerry or Edwards, whomever wins the nomination, to defeat George W. Tush.

This country is in need of a Democratic President, and the last thing the Democratic Party needs is for its votes to be split. Progressives, Socialists, Commies, 'Pinkos,' Greens, and anyone else who opposes Bush must, for the sake of humanity, unite behind the Democratic candidate. I wish I say otherwise. Maybe I will in 2008. This November, however, will be the most critical election in the history of the United States of America.

And, if you think there aren't many differences between Kerry and Bush, or between Edwards and Bush, I invite you to look at www.johnedwards2004.com/home.asp or www.johnkerry.com and see for yourself.

I gave money to Dean early on and I am most grateful to him, but I am ABB.

10. Sigh... me too. I'll probably be a Kerry person eventually.
But my heart will always belong to "Hollerin' Howard." I, too, gave money to Dean, starting at this time last year. I still believe in him. He better damned well turn up as Surgeon General or Secretary of Health and Human Services.

2. I agree.
It's hard, but I'm definitely ABB 2004! Deaniacs took very progressive positions (and we still do), bringing more centrist candidates to left of center. I hope that the eventual nominee, probably Kerry, will continue to stick up for civil rights as he courageously did not so long ago, by voting against DOMA, etc.

5. ABB, all the way!
While I'm saddened and depressed over Dean dropping out, I will support the DEM nominee with my vote in Novemeber. But Dean still gets my priamry vote.

6. Thanks for being a voice of reason!
ABB is the bottom line. Of course we like certain candidates better than others, but I can't imagine in a million years equating any of them with *.

12. A very sensible position.
Since my guy got out, I don't have any passion for the remainders, but whoever gets the nomination will have my wholehearted support because we absolutely have to get rid of Bush.

14. Thank you using your head!
I find it so surprising how some people refer to Kerry as conservative when he has one of the most liberal records of the candidates running. Where is the logic in that?

My candidate has dropped out also, but I can look at the bigger pictures like the congress, governorships and the supreme court. Why would someone give up the chance to make real changes because their candidate didn't make it?

Remember the Presidency is just a 4yr term, why a Supreme Court seat is a lifetime! Please do not forget about FLORIDA and what the courts did for Bush.

17. Thank you for this post ---
Having gotten up this morning in an uncharitable mood, I am posting these thoughts I originally posted in a "third-party" thread for the third time today:

You're on the wrong board if you vote third party, because you're voting for Bush. These third-party threads are frightening and depressing. This is not just any year; we're on the brink of losing this country. If you think the country's "broken" now, you ain't seen nothin' yet, once we get into a second Bush term, with a compliant Congress, and Republican Judiciary.

Sorry, I've made it a point to be unfailingly polite and fair-minded in every post I've made since I came to DU, but I've had it. I know your intentions are sincere, but to my mind, they are dangerously wrong-headed. Please vote one more time for a flawed Democratic nominee.

As someone who's been vocal in my opposition to the Bush regime, I feel I've risked a knock on my door at some future time, and I accept that risk, but I fear for my family in a right-wing extremist, one-party theocracy -- and I fear for all registered and posting here.

19. ABB? Try getting Kerry and Edwards to sign on.
They are the ones who are STILL backing Bush's war.
