Obama's Burma Shave Ads
the fix has a little video on the Burma Shave style ads that Barack Obama has in Iowa. It is very clever and cute.
I've never seen them for real but, have seen them in books. Now the obama campaign has revived them.

"Vote for the candidate with the funny name"

Because you losers are too stupid and white-bread to remember my actual name.

4. They're about to be "hacked" by Republican operatives.
Edited on Sat Oct-06-07 11:48 PM by tomreedtoon
Yeah, it's against the law to tamper with campaign signs during an election. But when has that stopped anybody? It's standard political procedure to destroy your opponent's signs.

In the case of these Burma-Shave signs, it's extremely likely that the Republicans will switch out or cover up the originals with their own. Imagine this sign sequence:

Sick of DC?

Tired of shame?

Vote for the candidate

(here's the replacement)
LOVES THE TALIBAN! SHAME!

Barack Obama!

They'll even match the typography and color so the campaign won't notice they've been hacked.

5. Anyone see Obama on Tyra?
Did anyone else see Obama on the Tyra Banks show? I saw this episode: http://gloob.tv/tv/barack_obama_charms_tyra_banks?article=1976 the other day. I found it interesting to hear him talk about no tax breaks for the rich to a cheering audience while Tyra the tycoon sat beside him all smiley. No tax breaks for Tyra?

7. I like it.
sick of dc
tired of the same
vote for the candidate
with the funny name

It resonates...not enough to make me vote for Obama, but maybe he can still convince me. I'll keep an open mind.
