from the man who coined the nickname "Captain Loobloo" for Kucinich and trashed numerous DK threads I'd say you are hardly a fan and indeed go out of your way to trash Kucinich and his supporters. Hardly groundless charges.

As for feeling violated :eyes: there's more than enough sarcasm in your posts to hold your weight without feigning injury

I suspect Kucinich was in the race to detract from Dean......I could not back someone with that style of politics. I am gravely disappointed in Kucinich. He showed his hand in Iowa. He is one of my congressmen in Ohio so indeed I would watch him closely... I use to defend him but maybe I will need to listen more ......

I think I will support Edwards now in effort to shut down kerry and his gang.

16. Actually, Kucinich was drafted
He was not "put" into the race by anyone but supporters.

Certainly not by the DLC or any other such nefarious organization.

If anything, Dean was set up by the media to be the "socially acceptable" rebel, as witnessed by the constant favorable coverage he got all summer.

18. to detract from Dean?
so you are blaming Dennis for Deans demise in the campaign? What do you mean by that style of politics? I could go into all the stuff Dean pulled on Kucinich but this was an attempt at a unity thread....

I understand your pain is fresh but please...Dennis has his own ideas and issues to carry forth- regardless of any other candidate. I don't understand why everyone makes Dennis' candidacy about their candidate...

As far as Edwards....do what you need to....

Peace

maneuvers. I think Dennis fell for the groups promises....whatever they are but I think he sold-out to feel like he belonged. Dennis may not of been aware of his purpose in the beginning but I bet he is well aware by now. My pain has been going on since right after Iowa when I figured it out. Dennis got used too.

I think this is what Dean would like to correct within the party.

28. what the hell is a 'click maneuver'?
Is that a fancy move with a remote control?

OH! You mean 'clique'.

Well, the logical thing to do is to fall behind the candidate that Dennis allegedly sold his soul and a pound of silver to. Which of course, he did not, but since you do insist on believing that canard, what sense does it make to fall behind the person who supposedly led Dennis on the road to perdition?

Obviously, DK knew that Dean was going to enter the race and decided to preempt him. :eyesroll:

and Dennis did not begin to campaign until January. But the concept that DK was a spoiler to Dean is absurd. Kucinich's candidacy was essentially born on February 17, 2002 when he delivered his Peace Is Possible address.

40. Kucinich was drafted by us
Kucinich supporters, well before we ever heard of Dean's candidacy. I for one was mightily pissed off that some DLC moderate governor from Vermont was posturing as from the democratic wing of the democratic party and stealing thunder from the presumed peace candidate. Kucinich stole no thunder from Dean. It went the other way.

FYI DK is coming to Minnesota this weekend. There's a big rally at Northrup Auditorium on the U of M campus at 2:00 PM if you're interested. There's going to be some good music and speakers, too, so it should be a fun event! Here's a link to his schedule for the weekend.

And, anybody else in Minnesota or Western Wisconsin, feel free to drop on in-- it's going to be a GREAT weekend!

the same Sean, you are right. I stayed out of your 3rd party thread. I hope given what Dean said today you have reconsidered that. Hell, I never liked Dean "the candidate" based on a good many things that did not work for me but I support him 100% for the gracious way he is leaving but still staying in for the cause. My husband about fainted dead away when I told him I was now a Dean supporter. I will back his efforts all the way. It seems a bit early to be asking you all to to join us, no offense to the other posters but if you do you will be welcome but you know that I think.

47. I'm not looking for trouble but...
For months I've been hearing from Kucinich supporters that Dean was not a progressive, he represented the pro-corporate establishment, he wasn't really antiwar, etc etc etc.

With all respect to Kucinich and his dedicated supporters why should you expect me to rally to your banner now that Dean has suspended his campaign?

I don't care much for either of the likely nominees, but I'll vote for the Democrat in November. In the meantime though I'm still with Dean. His chances are still as good as Kucinich's.

48. I choose to divorce my feelings of support for a candidate
from the actions of SOME of his supporters on an internet forum. Besides many of his supporters here are great...and some act simply out of understandable frustration.

I'm giving consideration to Dennis at this point for a number of reasons.
#1 Universal Healthcare
#2 Trade Policy
much more....
I have absolutely no expectations that he will win...but he should have some delegates if he can.

See I liked alot of things about Dean, I also REALLY REALLY REALLY believed he could win (this crap about Kerry's electability mystifies me to this day, policy arguements I'm more in tune with)

I am also divorcing myself from anger that Kerry was willing to play the game and win. Thems the breaks folks. I will vote for him in Nov, I simply don't see any benefit to it in March.

The Medias involvement in this and many other issues is a different story though.... they will not be forgiven as the shirk their responsibility.

49. You're absolutely right.
Some of us have been pretty vicious to Dean and you supporters.

I think the thing that irritated many was the use of the Wellstone quote when Dean's record doesn't show him to be as progressive as Wellstone was.

Please remember that opinions chancge with new information, and what has done it for me is that Governor Dean appears willing to hear reasons to take a stronger progressive position on some issues. Rather than accusing him of "waffling" I take it as a sign that he's a rational caring candidate who genuinely wants to do something good for the party and the nation.

For that reason if I'm denied the chance to vote for Kucinich, Governor Dean will have my vote.

52. "Why should you expect me to rally to your banner"
I for one don't expect it!

I wouldn't mind in the least if you did it, but if you don't, that's fine too. You have to do what you think right. If you believe the causes that drew you to Dean are best served by continuing to vote for him, or by switching to Kerry/Edwards, or by something else not connected with DK, then I think you should do that and not look back.

I do hope some of Dean's supporters will come to feel--preferably before Super Tuesday!!--that DK offers the best chance of reaching the goals they care about, but that's my limit: hope.
