Tucker Carlson tried to imply that John Edwards was a draft dodger by citing that he was 18 in 1971 and didn't serve in Vietnam. Here are the facts:

John Edwards was born on June 10, 1953.
A lottery was held in February 2, 1972 for men born in 1953.
John Edwards lottery selection number was 178
The 1972 lottery was conducted for men who would have been called into service in 1973.
No draft orders were issued after 1972.
