From the transcript of Dean's speech, he will remain on the ballots.
DEAN: I am no longer actively pursuing the presidency. We will, however, continue to build a new organization, using our enormous grassroots network, to continue the effort to transform the Democratic Party and to change our country. And I...

(APPLAUSE)

And speaking to all of you and all of the hundreds of thousands of people around America who are going to get this word, either by the establishment media...

(LAUGHTER)

... or the Internet, I have some things that I specifically want to ask of our supporters.

First, keep active in the primary. Sending delegates to the convention only continues to energize our party. Fight on in the caucuses. We are on the ballots. Use your network to send progressive delegates to the convention in Boston. We are not going away. We are staying together, unified -- all of us.

2. Yes, he is "suspending" campaigning, not dropping out.
There is a difference. But CNN does not seem to know that.

We can still campaign for him, and we just had a chance to let two people know he will still be on the ballot. They had decided to vote for him, and thought via CNN he would be off the ballot. Not true.

They said they would tell others.

That is called grassroots.

6. I will definitely be spreading the word.
I already talked to a friend of mine today who was a Dean supporter. He said he might vote for Edwards now, but I told him what Dean said in his speech today. My friend seemed surprised and happy and thought it was great, and said he would definitely still vote for Dean in that case.

More people need to know this. So, we've got some work to do! :)

8. Thanks, I don't think people realized he said this.
He is just not actively campaigning. He did not drop out.

I love this part:
SNIP..AUDIENCE: Judy! Judy! Judy!

DEAN: I also want to thank Judy for at least promoting the debate that's needed to happen in this country for a long time about whether a woman needs to gaze adoringly at her husband or follow her own career.

(APPLAUSE)

5. here's why I'm worried
I don't think Dean could take his name off the ballots even if he wanted to.

But look at Wisconsin: Clark's name was on the ballot, but since he left the race, he drew something like 2% of the vote. Had he stayed in, he would have picked up at least 15% I think. What we saw is his hardcore supporters continuing to vote for him, while most people voted for someone else.

Dean can make fine points about still being in the race but having suspended his campaign, but I don't think many people will understand the difference. I have a hard time seeing Dean picking up any more delegates -- 15% of the voters won't vote for someone who isn't campaigning.

We might see whether this is true in the primaries next Tuesday.

7. But: he did not end his candidacy.
His asking the supporters to vote for him in the primary could make a difference. How much, we don't know.

10. I got an email from my Local Dean chapter urging me to caucaus
they did not urge me to caucaus for Dean, but I asked them if I could. I would like to do so. Though I don't know if he'll get the needed 15% now? If not I guess I'll abstain...

11. I do not think they know he asked this. Maybe you should share this.
It is in his speech at the blog.
