Repugs voting in WI open primary for Edwards
My town paper:

http://www.wisinfo.com/heraldtimes/news/archive/local_14765439.shtml

Quote:

Local Republican Andrew Stecker and his politically unaffiliated wife, Tatum, voted for Edwards to give Kerry some competition, they said from outside the polling station at First Reformed United Church of Christ. Wisconsin is among a minority of states that hold open primaries, allowing people to vote for any candidate they choose, regardless of party affiliation.

The couple plans to cast their votes for Bush in November’s general election.

“I think he’s doing a great job,” Andrew Stecker said. “We are in a war, but he had to do it. If he stays in there, we can get it turned around without tax hikes.”

1. Oh dear
“I think he’s doing a great job,” Andrew Stecker said. “We are in a war, but he had to do it. If he stays in there, we can get it turned around without tax hikes.”

Perhaps having an IQ of at least 70 should be a prerequisite for being allowed to vote in the GE.

12. the second dumbest one is right after that one
Yes, we can keep racking up record deficits with no negative consequences. Who needs tax hikes? We need more tax cuts!

2. There's the smoking gun, folks: Two voters!
Thanks for helping Democrats get an extended period of free media, Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Stecker!

5. That's what I was thinking
Besides, I'm sure some of the Repubs voting for Edwards aren't thrilled with Bush.

13. and does Tatum ("Pickles") let her husband
speak for her? Maybe she likes Edwards. She was not quoted in the article. Sigh, even the anecdotal evidence isn't very good.

6. What does posting this have to do with running scared?
Some Bush supporters voted for Edwards. That doesn't make Edwards a bad candidate.

8. I'm not going to play word games.
You know exactly what I mean. This was posted in an attempt to validate the claim that there is this HUGE and MASSIVE conspiracy by Republicans to get Edwards elected. Despite the fact that about 11% of the voters were Republicans, AND out of that 11% Edwards only got about 39% of that vote. (This is according to what MSNBC was saying last night.)

9. Uhhh No.
Thanks for telling people what I meant, but next time ... don't.

I have nothing against Edwards or anyone else. I'm not laying any conspiracies about anything.

I'm simply passing along the fact that there are Republicans voting for Edwards with the intent to bring down Kerry. I'm sure there are Republicans who actually do like Edwards and will vote against Bush in the GE. But these two ass-clowns are going to vote for Bush and have no business voting in our primary other than to try and disturb things.

4. Finally, an anecdote to support the claim. Yet, still an anecdote.

10. Republican votes
According to the Washigton Post, Republicans were 9% of the vote or 74,327 out of 825,850. Edwards got 44% or 32,703. Deducted from his vote, he got 250,622 out of 751,523 (non-republican) votes, or 33%.
